I have just bought boots and am having a wobble

It's pathetic I know - but I really don't go shopping often and I went to Westfield today with all the beautiful West London people and bought a pair of boots from M & S

I want to wear them with leggings and dresses/skirts and also my skinny jeans.

I have got home to not so beautiful East London and think they look daft and when I tried them on with my jeans I looked like I had jeans stuffed in to wellies.

Are they awful?

I think they are very nice and a great buy for the money.

The reviews on the site mostly say they are generous round the calf which could be what is causing the welly effect.

Personally I think those boots would look better if they weren't snug to your leg - kind of like this effect:

Oh no, I love those! I looked at them the other day when scouring t'internet for my winter boots! Agree that your jeans need to be pretty snug around the calf to avoid them looking baggy. I've just bought these and they look fine with boots.

Thank you everyone. I tried on some jeans in Uniqlo with them and I think they were a bit skinnier and looked better.

Maybe I shall have to buy new jeans......

No, I REALLY like them. If you need new skinnies, the Primark £8 ones are fab for tucking into boots.

Love those boots and have had my eye on them for a couple of weeks. What colour did you get prince ?

I am tempted to go out straight away and buy these. What makes them so great? Do they feel completely flat when you wear them? I am unsure about jeans tucked in the boots, does that look suit everyone? My calves are fat though I have lost weight as my other boots went on really easily on my left leg when normally it is hard to pull up the zip.

They're really nice. Surprised M&S have anything that nice in actually!

I got the brown ones.

They don't come up to the knee - they are mid calf length which I thought would look OK with jeans.

They are flat and comfy to wear - I needed some that are good to walk in as I walk a lot.

I think if I got them in Russell and Bromley I would think they are great - it's the fact that they come from M & S!

I think they look great - also surprised, and also tempted. Do they feel quite heavy and clumpy when you walk, or reasonably light and comfortable?

I can report back. just went and tried on the ones that the assistant said were calve height. From the side they looked fab, from the front they didn't suit me and the assistant said they made my legs look fatter.

I found some other boots that are gorgeous but the 7 felt a bit too big, they don't come in a 6 1/2 and other 6 1/2s I tried felt too tight. I am going back tomorrow to try the 7s again with thicker socks on.

Just checked on line and the ones linked in the OP look exactly like the ones I tried on. I am 5 foot 6 and no way are they anywhere near knee high.

I have the Mink colour on order,they are coming into store 1st Oct for me to collect.

I tired them on in store and loved them but they only had the black in my size and I wanted the brown.

I wear dresses most days so I am planning to wear them with leggings/thick tights and dresses.

I think they would look good with skinnies but I don't wear jeans much as never as comfy as when I am wearing dresses.

So, i went to M&S today and they only had size 8's left in the mink colour..BUT...I didn't like them in the flesh..Sorry! I thought they would be chunkier and would stand up by themselves IYKWIM? But they're a bit floppy looking and seem a bit expensive. Didn't like the heel on them either - again had hoped it would be chunkier. Hey ho...the search goes on! Maybe if I had been able to try them on in my size I may have been tempted.

Thanks for starting this thread as otherwise I wouldn't have gone to M&S to get the boots you bought and then seen others and bought them today. I love my new boots .

Ha! Well I wore them today and was happy enough with them.

I don't think they are perfect - but they will do!

I should have also thanked you prince because I did enjoy my trip to M&S...and it was because of you that I made the point of going. And, just like pink I saw other boots that I loved these
They are really nice on in the mink colour....was unsure about them not being leather and me not really wanting long boots so am having a little think
