Feet just a bit too big...

My feet are a (big, wide) size 8 and depending on style I can buy shoes in normal shops sometimes. Any tips on places that routinely do a 42 rather than a 41 as their size 8? It's so annoying to shop online and buy an 8 only for it to be too small.

welcome to my worldGrin.....duo boots are good for width and calf fitting shoes..

La redoute have just also started doing wide fit shoes...

Ohhh, thanks. I'm really tall too so I always have the dilemma of 'no heel = normal height woman, but feet look massive' versus 'high heel, feet look better, but = look like transvestite as so freakishly tall'

Don't suppose you have this problem too?

Mistressploppy. Might I ask at what age your feet stopped growing? My DD is 10 and her feet are already 7 1/2. I am quite scared on her behalf. Just bought her a pair of size 8 wellies.

Hmm. I think by about 12 I was an 8. Just a guess though.

I'm 5'9 so yes sometimes I have issues with flappy ankles! I always go heels, be tall and confident!

Try Long Tall Sally for good length trousers and they sell big shoes too...you have to rummage some of the stuff is grim.

Hi, I'm usually size 8 (hate the high street retailers who pretend that 8 is size 41 - it just isn't) but have now gone up to size 9 as 7 months pg. Next do size 42 and 43 routinely, although rarer to stock 43 in store. Having said that, I managed to get a lovely pair of size 43 tan boots from there at the weekend. I've had size 8 feet since I was about 13.

I have been known to walk into a shoe store and demand to be brought every shoe they have in a size 42. Usually no more than about five pairs get brought out, but saves going through the whole rigmarole of them not having shoes in my size. Also try www.bigshoeboutique.co.uk. Might be .com

Happy shopping!

same here, with bunions!!! hate my feet! I get Next wide fit, occasionally new Look wide fit and the Simply be magazine where ive had ultra wide strappy sandals that look very flattering!!

I also have Gruffalo feet, size, v wide and big calves (18" circumference)and am having a lot of joy with Clark's - boots and shoes - at the moment!

Other brands that work for me

Next - some syles to a 9
M&S - sometimes fit a 7.5
DM - boots and shoes
Nine West - styles are girly, but sometimes I need girly shoes, also do a 9 (whih I need in their shoes)
Duo - Boots and shoes fir, but ££ and I don't like much fo thier stuff.
Asda!

My feet stopped grwoing around 12 oe 13 too.

HI there,

Might be worth a look at Vivaladiva.com. They stock quite a few ranges with width fittings and calf-fittings.
