Need interview suit - where to start

I'm about to start looking for a new job, and I need to look presentable and feel confident.

I'm 49, a size 20 - 22, have no waist to speak of, good norks (42DD), tummy that needs strapping down, good bum, horrible knees and ankes.

BTW I generally don't wear black as it makes me look really ill.

So where to go for that killer suit?

Budget?

Sounds like you might prefer a trouser suit to skirt - would that be right?

PurpleKate · 23/09/2010 11:48

Up to £200.

Yes I think trousers would be better, or a skirt with boots would be OK.

I live in the West Midlands, so Birmingham and Chester are the places for me shop in person. Online is OK too.

Thanks

M&S do some good ones, especially in the Autograph range. Reiss do good suits but will be over £200.

Also, suggest you don't just look at suits - consider a tailoured coloured jacket with black trousers, a look that somehow always looks more confident to me than an all black suit.

here?

JL seem to have reasonable selection, but not always covering full range of sizing. They stock Planet, however, and that seems to cover your size, and particularly with some of the reductions they have at the moment, would come within budget.

Marina Rinaldi does great things for curvier people, but I am struggling to find the stuff online.

tethersend · 23/09/2010 12:15

How about this with this or this?

PurpleKate · 23/09/2010 20:32

Mmmm, I'd forgotten about Planet - will investigate that. I think that Telford will have soemthing.

Not heard of Marina Rinaldi before, so will look for that too.

The problem with M & S I find is that the Jackets often don't fit properly on my shoulders, not sure why not - but I'll keep trying them.

John Lewis - think I will have to visit in person.

Thanks
