I need nice boots to go with grey slim leg cords

Help please- what do you wear with them?

I guess I need a slim ankle boot, flats just look rubbish, all bunched up and make my legs look stumpy with them. The leg is just a little too wide to tuck into a longer boot as I would with skinny jeans.

I need inspiration please!!

well, I wear biker style flat boots with my just too wide to tuck in slim leg cords!

I think, personally, that heeled boots are a bit passe with trousers, but each to their own.

Ankle boots might look fine but i wore tham 1st time round almost 30 years ago, so am giving a miss this time!

Have you thought about something like a laced p leather plimsoll- see Boden and KG?

sandytoes79 · 23/09/2010 11:18

I think tucking into a biker and getting on with it is prob a better route for me than the plimsoll which I've tried and just looks wierd, I'm not sure why, maybe I have wierd legs! Reading what you have written about heeled boots with trousers makes perfect sense. Thank you wise PP. If anyone else wants to enlighten me as to what they wear with theirs would be v gratefuk. Ta

Just to add that I wear my cords over the boots- they are just slightly too wide to go in.

I have just bought some ankle boots that are very similar to these:

Is this the sort of thing you are looking for?

Could you try brogues or loafers - both trendy again now, but a bit smarter and more feminine than plimsolls.

sandytoes79 · 23/09/2010 19:54

Yes, did in fact try on some brogues today and thought they might be a good fit. I think from looking at people's trouser/shoe combinations when out and about today have realised that the cords are prob just a bit long, if I take up little bit will prob work a lot better with flatties, Ta all.

You could also try looking at websites like NetaPorter and Asos, where they show the clothes styled in different ways. Can be helpful when you're trying something new.
