I have to confess...

I was daydreaming about BarkingUpTheWrongTree's boots on my way to work today Blush!

BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 23/09/2010 22:14

Told you those boots would haunt youGrin
Just about to check all those out! Have been on the phone all evening neglecting mnetShock

I'm quite liking most of those boots linked, -have been busy bookmarking so I can go back & compare!
Can't help but keep looking back at those first ones though...[hankering emot]

I want the boots the OP mentioned, have decided they will make every autumn /winter outfit I have, therefore on a cost per wear basis, are cheap....

YourCallIsImportant · 23/09/2010 22:41

I have to admit to being clueless when it comes to putting a good look together, although I do love the OP's most wanted boots. Help me out a bit by telling me what you'd wear them with?

BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 23/09/2010 22:52

Um, skinny(ish) jeans? which is my daily staple, though I do believe you could wear them with skirts or dressesSmile
If anyone here buys them do report back on how gorgeous they are in RL!

OP posts:
cerealqueen · 24/09/2010 08:45

i'm thinking dresses /skirts with thick cable tights..... short skirt and long cardigan. Sigh.

wingandprayer · 24/09/2010 09:05

Went to M&S yesterday and there were several variations on the ankle boot with straps/detailing and small heel from £35. HTH

BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 24/09/2010 09:53

Thanks Wingandprayer, I'll check out M&S, I did see some boots in there a while ago that I quite liked so I'll have another look.

Thanks for your advice.

Aranea · 24/09/2010 21:43

Are these any good?

malinkey · 24/09/2010 22:57

What about these?

BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 25/09/2010 14:15

Thanks for all the suggestions, I guess I've learnt from this that I really want leather, with a small heel, but I've got quite a few to peruse now so thanks again to everyone who repliedSmile

Just wondered if you'd looked at the Barratts website here ? They have tonnes of boots, mostly pretty cheap. A few similar to those pirate ones :) You can get quidco too if I remember rightly

BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 25/09/2010 21:58

I've got to admit to having a little hyperventilate when I started looking through the Barratts website there SaltcodGrin It had never occurred to me to look at Barratts but its great, thanksSmile

Lol... glad you enjoyed yourself. It was all I could do to stop myself buying a pair of black biker boots from there. Have far too many boots. But still lusting after that Aldo pair. Maybe Christmas....

Mamumu · 26/09/2010 07:50

Saw ones like those in Primark Oxford St

Maryqueenofchocs · 26/09/2010 09:31

These are on ebay for £60, what size are you?

here

BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 26/09/2010 10:08

Sadly the ebay ones would be too big, they're definitely along the right lines though!
I bet the Primark ones weren't 160quid either!

Having drooled over OP's boots for 2 days DH announced that he liked them too and bought them for me Grin. Suspect is for hateful landmark birthday approaching... BUT that doesn't matter cos boots arrived today and I still love them. I'm a recent convert to skinnyISH jeans and they look really well with them (despite my less than lovely fogure) and I reckon you're right- cable tights and tunics etc should be good too. Now my only concern is that I'll be considered to be mutton...

Turk1 · 30/09/2010 11:03

Hmmm. Fogure is about right but I did mean figure...

BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 30/09/2010 13:38

(Hyperventilate) what colour did you go for? I bet they're gorgeous! I'm V Envy and Smile for you too!

OP posts:
BarkingUpTheWrongTree · 30/09/2010 13:50

BTW I bet they look great and not at all muttony. I think they're perfect for adding a flourish of fashion for us, lets say seasoned fashionistas! (I'm approaching a landmark birthday too) actually great present idea...

Thank you! Got the stone ones which are much greyer (is that a word?) than the photo.Reckon it's a good thing as makes them more neutral than the tan ie can wear with black trousers and dark jeans. Saying that, couldn't find tan on internet anywhere. Am v v pleased with them. Now I've broken out surely someone else can get them for Christmas/ birthday etc and I won't have to feel guilty and overdressed as I skip through my glamorous life of weaning (DS) and Balamory addiction(DD). Huh.

Turk1 · 30/09/2010 14:03

Seasoned- definitely
Fashionista- definitely notBlush
Now that I'm emerging from murk of new baby confusion I'm determined to make more effort with my appearance. Also think might be reacting to birthday- don't want to give up! Thank you for discovering the boots Grin
