I need a watch, but also need want a new brown/tan bag. I have a maximum budget of £250. So, do I go for This watch, and live without a bag

OR This watch and this bag (it's the Nicole bag, in brown.)

I love the bag, but wonder whether the watch will look a bit cheap? Arghh, can't decide! Grin

I'm not a huge fan of the rotary watch (I think it perhaps looks a bit dated...but that's entirely my opinion!)

I prefer the John Rocha watch and the bag is lovely. Also if you are paying less for a watch then you won't feel so bad in 5 years time or so if you fancy a new one.

Agree on the watches with bethjeff, I would buy a bag all day long...the hobbs one looks too much like a birkin for me which has been done to death imo, but it does look a gorgeous one.
I am debating this at the moment, see my other thread, its had rave reviews but may be too slouchy for you?

how about this watch

leaves a bit more for the bag. I think the bag is quite expensive unless it's amazing quality and I'm not sure Hobbs bags are substantially better than M&S.

Thank you! My DH was pushing me towards the Rotary watch, but I'm just not that bothered about having an expensive watch. I'd much rather have a nice bag. That Fossil watch is nice, Lauriefairycake. I saw it in Debenhams, but it was £65. Bargain at £50.

I'm a bit of a bag virgin Grin. I've never had much money to spend on a nice one. (I do quite like the Peony and Moore one.) Think I might have to investigate some more. Anyone want to suggest some nice bag brands/websites?

Hmm, any thoughts on this bag? (Think I might be clueless on the bag front Confused).

Whats with the big toggle on the John lewis bag...!Confused Like the clarks one, but I always worry loads of people will have the same bag...

Amanderrr · 22/09/2010 15:29

Of all the bags you've linked to Don'tRunWithScissors the Clarks one is the nicest. Lovely colour and a good size.

Not keen on either of the watches I'm afraid. I'm a bit of a watch snob Blush and would rather save up and buy a good mechanical watch as they last a lifetime with care.

If I was going to buy a throwaway battery powered watch then I'd probably go for one of the chunky Michael Kors watches or a bright Swatch.

I like the Hobbs one best, it looks both expensive and classic without being boring. I am currently desiring the one under yours on the website, the Baystone. Their bags are glorious thick leather and will last you forever.

The Clarks one is a bit fashiony and rips off the Mulberry Alexa not very well IMO, and the toggly one I like but the toggle is a bit love or hate, you might go off it after a year or two.
