Plese be gentle as this I am not a fashion knowledgable person. i hide from here because you all use scarey terms that mean nothing to me. Plus i would rather strip down a car engine then go clothes shopping Blush

So i am really in need of you help.

I want a tunic type thing that i can wear as a dress, over leggings, over jeans or trousers. Fairly fitted top, not clingy round the arse. About mid to low thigh but above knee. if possible knit type wear but not essential. At a tight budget. Oh and is suitable for school runs, pubs and pretty much everything.

So not asking for much WinkBlushGrin

sits quickly waiting to be put in place about all fashion faux pas in request. Blush

this?

Saw it on another thread and thought it might fit the bill. Bit plain for evening wear perhaps?

notyummy · 21/09/2010 19:44

ooh - pretty!

notyummy · 21/09/2010 19:49

love the print

funky

OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 19:50

very girly.

If it helps i intend not to wear it with a coat or jumper and have a chest that makes finding a fullsuportive bolder holder that allows cleavage display awkwark. Blush i think i was thinking of something like a fitted jumper dress type thing Confused

this is why i have my favourite comfy hoodies that come out every year. poor jumpers need retiring and would like one thing that is not a big baggy hoddie. beginning to think big baggy hoddies are more suitable for my purposes. :(

I have something like this that i made last year in a blue green check. just looks too smart to chuck over jeans and needs a sleeved top inside.

I think i was thinking something like this but in a chunky knit

It pains me to the core to link to anything from Per Una, but given your last post, are you thinking of something more like this?

OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 19:57

the ink one is fabulous it would make a good competition dress!

OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 19:59

i think so but chunkier. sort of exagerated knit. I think there was a trend for this in jumpers not so long ago so it might be i am thinking of a long jumper or cardi that i have seen used as a dress by addition of belt.

I am beginning to think u would be horrified if you got to rummage through my wardrobe (although not per uno) Blush

I am sure I wouldn't be horriefied - just that some of the stuff in Per Una really hurts the eyes - like this

OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 20:05

like this but would like it longer vest top under neath would work. maybe i need to girly up a bit.

Found this

Struggling to find cable knit stuff v cheaply - there will probably loads at Boden/Toast/Phase 8, but they are a bit more £££.

OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 20:08

that really does suit its description.

found this but have never heard of the website before

OP posts:
notyummy · 21/09/2010 20:09

this as well

notyummy · 21/09/2010 20:11

Hmm - neither have I. Dress looks ok - but have you checked the sizing? Not sure what size you are but they have very limted ones left.

notyummy · 21/09/2010 20:11

and another

OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 20:11

oooh love that last one. its fabulous.

Just one question: is it worth splashing that much out, or would it be worth trawling a few of the cheaper stores for an equivalent based on the fact that i have a disgusting ds so it is likely to be covered in mud/paint/slug or snail slime/ snot etc

especially know i know what it i am looking for. thankyou Grin

Quite a few at Dotty Ps - check this page out.

notyummy · 21/09/2010 20:15

Might be worth checking out H and M and Primark to see what they have? You could always come back to this thread if no luck and buy something from here if there is a couple you like.

OuchPassVodka · 21/09/2010 20:22

ooh and more at dotty p's fabulous a choice. wow.

Not sure about sizing either as i am between sizes and wanting to lose weight so i think i might let that one slide and go for one where i can try on the same/similar to sort out a good size.

I must confess i hate shopping because i hate badly fitting clothes and finding stuff that properally fits can be a bit of a mission.

Thankyou ever so.
