If anything, I size down in Boden. My dd is a very average 6 yo and has been fitting in their 8 year old things

BooBooGlass · 19/09/2010 21:52

Size down? I mean size up, doh!

nicolamumof3 · 19/09/2010 21:53

i find the childrens range large, and the baby stuff true to size/small. hth!

LowLevelWhiinging · 19/09/2010 21:57

A bit variable I think.

I bought my 5 year old 5-6 pyjamas which are so ridiculously small, the t-shirt fit my 2year old. But the 4-5 trousers are 6 inches too long for him.

At least if you get too big, she can grow into it? As long as it's not season specific, i.e.summer frocks that won't fit til winter...

thanks all.
was going to buy some woollen dresses off ebay but am now thinking 2-3y ??

On the small size. My 22 mth old has grown out of most of their 2-3 yrs stuff.

nicolamumof3 · 19/09/2010 22:56

lowlevel are you talking the skinny fit pj's if so yes you have to size up by at least 2-3yrs to get a good fit. My four year old wearing aging 6 in them but 3-4yr in anything else!!

happilyeverafter · 19/09/2010 23:21

I find mini boden reviews really helpful with sizing. My DD is long so we have to size up in all brands, Boden seems pretty generous as kids sizes go but there's always the odd item that has weird sizing.

Defo agree on the skinny fit pjs, can add another couple of years on there.

I've found the stuff in the sales I've bought has been very erratic with sizing - something I have discovered to my cost when buying clothes I'd expected DD to grow into and then they either didn't fit at all or didn't fit well - sleeves too skinny or such like.

LowLevelWhiinging · 20/09/2010 00:06

yes, it was the skinny fit pjs. They are gorgeous though!

pleasechange · 20/09/2010 09:56

I find the sizing pretty generous. I size down in trousers, but normal size in tops

Whoamireally · 20/09/2010 10:07

I size up in tops (arms fit but tight round belly otherwise) and size down in trousers which don't have an adjustable waist.

allluckedout · 20/09/2010 14:39

old seasons clothing i found comes up big/true to size, this seasons clothing is coming up small for the dc. dd1 is 4 and half and in age 3-4 or 4-5 tops in most other shops, but had to send 4-5 dresses back for 5-6.

Find the boys tshirts quite short. Shorts have been fine though- never bought trousers.
