What do we think of skinny cords?

Hi there, ladies more stylish than me...

What is the general opinion on skinny cords? Just seen some black ones in Next- very tight so presumedly to be worn with boots? I (literally) got into skinny jeans two years ago when I was pregnant and have been wedded to them ever since (yup- mostly still in the maternity ones- loving them stretchy pockets!) but I'm not quite brave enough for leggings. Are skinny cords the logical next step or just too damned trendy for a thirty something lady who should probably know better (I'm size ten but wobbly, I can look pretty sexy given the right camouflage)?

And to further leech your stylish wisdom- can anyone suggest what sort of tops might work with them?

Advise me, please....:)

quick one handed post - if wasnt pregnant would be buying grey slim leg (not skinny) cords from Uniqlo. would wear w woollen jumper (poss turtleneck) and poss denim jacket.

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2010 09:08

Yes they are great. I like olive ones. Yes to polo neck jumper. Possibly a cream one.

moragbellingham · 20/09/2010 10:48

I have two pairs from DP (25% off). I think they're a nice change from skinny jeans but haven't worn them yet as I have no winter tops!

cheekychopsmum · 20/09/2010 16:00

D you have the DP 25% discount code Morag please?

missbeehiving · 20/09/2010 16:12

Ordered some grey cords from Uniqlo to wear with slouchy jumpers and am lusting after grey aviator jacket from Mint Velvet.

sandytoes79 · 20/09/2010 17:19

DP 25% discount ended on Sunday I think, but there's a 20% discount instore with a page from Glamour mag this month.

sandytoes79 · 20/09/2010 17:20

Missbeehiving- could you link to the grey cords at Uniqlo, can't find them on their site?

pinkbasket · 20/09/2010 17:21

I might actually be wearing skinny cords and if so this is probably the first time I have ever been in fashion HmmGrin. They are from the Indigo collection in M&S.

missbeehiving · 20/09/2010 20:15

Sandytoes here but they also had trouser/leggings for £9.99 Smile

bunnymother · 21/09/2010 14:25

There's also these Uniqlo slim fit cords. Cannot wait to buy non-maternity clothes again!!

moragbellingham · 21/09/2010 15:33

Sorry cheeky it was the 12th-19th as sandytoes said. Shouldn't have posted that bit I guess as the offer had expiredBlush

saucetastic · 21/09/2010 15:38

Just make sure you don't wear them if your thighs rub together as you could start a fire! Shock Grin

I have some J Brand dark grey cigarette ones. Much comfier than denim. Not cheap but a flattering fit so worth the extra cash.....

WhatsWrongWithYou · 21/09/2010 19:41

Ae the uniqlo ones slightly washed-out, or is the colour even?
I look like I'm off for a day's painting and decorating if I try wearing anything faded!

MrsJamin · 21/09/2010 20:11

Ooh I've been looking for some cords to change from wearing jeans day in day out. I actually miss my maternity grey cords from last winter! Any uniqlo codes for free delivery or anything?

AnyFucker · 21/09/2010 20:22

I have some black skinny cords I have had for several years

am inspired to dig 'em out Smile

div22c · 22/09/2010 10:03
