do we reckon these would go with this dress

It's for a wedding, and I can't decide whether they are too casual...

I have the dress already, btw.

Could have been worse...you could have just said 'oh yes, beautiful, go for it!' Grin

The dress is lovely. Not sure about the shoes, maybe look a bit to summery with that particular dress, might be the heel, not sure, nice style of shoe though.

tethersend · 18/09/2010 14:04

Although the shoes are not my thing, I think they could work very well indeed with the dress.

NothingButTheTeuch · 18/09/2010 14:07

I did see some lovely navy patent shoes, but I have it in my head that plain navy shoes and plain navy dress will be a bit 'old' for me... (am 'early' thirties Grin)

Am also a tad overweight, so although the dress hangs very nicely on me, the slightest hint of mumsiness and it will not be the 'sexy but understated' look I am striving for Hmm

I think a nude patent or deep red patent would look really lovely.

Agree that a navy shoe could make it look a bit old.

c0rns1lk · 18/09/2010 14:09

I think they will go but what about tights? It'll be cold in Oct and those shoes are a bit too light in colour for tights I think.

NothingButTheTeuch · 18/09/2010 14:11

I like nude on 'other people' - my legs seem to need something contrasting Hmm

Red patent? I shall go and search...

I think bold patterned shoes are the way forward with that dress actually...

Bunbaker · 18/09/2010 14:17

I love the dress. I want it now!
While I'm not keen on the shoes I think they would work well with the dress, although they are a bit summery for this time of year.

Lizzylou · 18/09/2010 14:19

Gorgeous dress, really lovely.
Like the shoes but agree, if you need tights then may not be right.

NothingButTheTeuch · 18/09/2010 14:20

I can probably manage without tights, won't be outside much and being Scottish I am obviously hard as nail Wink

But what about the wooden heel? Can I paint it??

I have a bag that would go with these

OP posts:
c0rns1lk · 18/09/2010 14:42

I like the heel

NothingButTheTeuch · 18/09/2010 15:39

I do too, but I wonder whether the fact it is wooden is what is making them seem 'casual'?

I should order them and then send them back if no use, shouldn't I?

I wish I was closer to the shops so I could go and try on a whole selection!

OP posts:
c0rns1lk · 18/09/2010 15:41

Yes order them - this is clearly shoe infatuation. You need to know for sure.

NothingButTheTeuch · 18/09/2010 16:44

done.
