Nearly time to retire the flip flops for another year <horror>. What boots are we wearing with skinnies?

Assuming that skinnies and boots is still the way to go (and frankly, arses to anyone who says otherwise. I hate sopping wet jeans, and slouchy jeans are a crime on me anyway). I longed for some Fly boots last year but was feeling skint frugal so made my tall brown timberlands (much nicer than they sound) last another winter, but they are truly knackered now, and my birthday is next week, so going to spend any money I may get on boots. ANy suggestions?

I have just turned my heating on and put on slippers. Tomorrow I am going to go shopping for boots and a winter coat. Sad

Also watching with interest....I have always worn longer boots that these - mid calf length - with skinny jeans....can I really get away with shorter ones??

i think the lower boots do but personally i prefer knee highs or at least to past calf length.
