Iam obsessed by these bootswww.penelopechilvers.com,but if I buy them my husband will leave me. Has anyone found anything similar, but without the price tag?

Just look like a bog standard riding boot to me!

Weren´t they popular in the 60´s as "Chelsea" boots?

I had a look but the link takes you to the main page and I couldnt find Spanish riding boots.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 18/09/2010 10:00

Are those ankle boots the riding boots?
I always thought riding boots were knee length.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 18/09/2010 10:01

I have this bookmarked, and actually it's better than penelope chilvers, you can choose which sole to have, and I think they'll even customise further for not very much more. Still not cheap but much much cheaper than PC

faustina · 18/09/2010 10:39

ps. there are other companies too - just google spanish tasseled riding boot or whatever they're called. I did a search a few months ago when I was thinking of getting some

diddl · 18/09/2010 12:18

"I always thought riding boots were knee length."

No-if you have the short boots you wear chaps with.

pinkhousesarebest · 18/09/2010 13:15

Oh Faustina, thank you. They are gorgeous. Have you bought from them?

I have some of these which were from Toast in the sale. They are too big.

Thankyou for the link - I might try and order some different ones to fit!

(anyone need a size 9-ish? it's a 42 but they're HUGE)

faustina · 18/09/2010 14:41

no - still thinking about it. I almost did a few months ago, which is when i googled them. I loved the look of the PC ones, and the last few on the toast sale website. I wonder if PC gets hers from the same source and then just does a massive markup? Bit of a rip off if that's the case isn't it - they're four hundred and something aren't they?

this was the site which did made to measure for an extra 40 euros:
