Ash Boots

DTI10 · 16/09/2010 11:40

Hello all,

Can anyone help me find a pair of size 41 Ash "Iman" ankle studded boots in Sparrow (Grey)?

I have looked on all the main websites and the two shops in London are sold out.

Appreciate any input! Smile

I have had a look around for you but can only find them in black suede.

Nice boots though!

DTI10 · 16/09/2010 16:29

Hi apple99.

I found them!

Smile Smile Smile

A lovely and very helpful lady at a shop called Lux (in Bath) just sold me her last pair in Grey. I can only hope they fit my massive feet!

Thank you so much for your input!

Am sure they will, I have big size 8 feet and fit into my ash hi-tops fine.

Well done on finding them, it makes you want them all the more when they seem hard to get!!

Do you really wear Ash hi-tops with large feet? I love those but have not ventured into a purchase for fear of looking like Flipper with my feet.

My converse boots have been banished to the back of the wardrobe after a first and only outing years ago!

Yep - another happy day of big feet shoe purchasing!

Where else do you buy your shoes/boots etc from?

OP posts:
apple99 · 16/09/2010 19:23

Yes, Ash hi-tops get worn a lot, love them so much have 2 pairs. Don't seem to look as big as converse, maybe because the toe cap isn't as white!

Have lived in gladiators and other flat sandals over the summer but have just bought some biker boots for autumn, tried loads but ended up buying the cheapest as they seemed the nicest from Gap. Never seem to have a much trouble finding shoes/boots for size 8, although my feet are wide as well though so that causes more problems.

Am after some shoeboots next so on the lookout for a nice pair, maybe grey suede.........

DTI10 · 16/09/2010 21:26

Yep, that's it. The toe cap on the Converse was the comment I received so now banned! I might try the hi-tops, seen a few people wearing them but their feet are smaLler.

Ditto living in Gladiators, Ballet Pumps and flat sandals. I have lots of heels but really into flats. I need to learn to walk in heels again!

Is Gap size 8 generous? I am probably 8.5 and easily fit 42 (feet are long and thin).

I am looking for shoeboots too. I spotted a lovely pair in Aldo (last week's Grazia) but not in shops or website yet. They were a dark grey but pointed. I will try and link to what I find.

I am gutted that the new Banana Republic website does not have shoes! Their size 8 is a good fit for me.

LK Bennett have a lovely pair but not in 42 and pricey!

The hunt goes on.....

I had to send the Ash Iman back. They were no way a 41. I can't believe it as I have the Ash Sparrow in the grey and they fit perfectly.

PSSSST

size 41-42 here and have two pairs of ash high-tops .. good sizing, I think

sorry about your Imans

DTI10 · 08/10/2010 21:18

LTEC I daren't not purchase the high-tops. My feet are long and narrow and I fear I would look like a clown!! I am denying that I am really a 42!

Gutted about the Imans - tracked them down in Bath and had to send them all the way back booing and ahooing to the post office.

I have kept the lovely Sparrows and trying to find the Navy trench (I will stop going on soon) to wear with thick tights and mini skirt (grey/blue combo)......

OP posts:
apple99 · 08/10/2010 23:08

Oh such a shame after sourcing the last pair!!

The hi-tops are great and not clown like at all, I am more a 42 than 41, so depressing to have such big feet. Was worse when I lived in USA for a while as over there I am a size 10, was mortified asking for shoes in that size!

DTI10 · 08/10/2010 23:33

apple

Am still gutted now - I have so many problems finding my/our size that I have to literally hunt things down on the day I spot them!!

My feet were a size 41.5 and after DC they are now a definite 42. Please don't let them get any bigger Blush.

I lived in the USA too and had no problems whatsoever buying shoes/boots/pumps or sneakerssssss but yes I am laughing at remembering asking for a 10!

I am now thinking about the ash hi-tops...........to go with the Navy trench that I am yet to find! I have been looking at people wearing them (the hi-tops). LTEC has them and she is my height too, I think.

Have you found anything shoe/boot wise lately? I am on a permanent shoe search......

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 08/10/2010 23:41

if my big feet and I may stamp in ...

I am 5'10", size 42 feet (sometimes 41, not often)

I have many shoes and boots

may I help?

DTI10 · 08/10/2010 23:56

LTEC - of course you can help! Anyone in the big feet club can - love talking to others with big feet, everyone in my office has size 37, 38 and biggest is 39 (apart from the men.

I am looking for (apart from the Navy trench - which I really must shut up about or just go and pre-birthday treat myself to the Burberry - someone please tell me to go and do it!) a pair of ankle/shoe boots/shearling boots (can't/won't do biker boots as my legs are too thin at the bottom.

I was overjoyed when I found the Ash boots and yes, they rock but are still a bit baggy around my ankle (can't pump my ankles up anymore). I have got my eye a pair by Aldo (sorry, no link but if you have August Elle Magazine they are advertised). I rang Customer services in the US and they are not available until late November (oooh, a birthday purchase!). In the meantime I am wearing boring court shoes (to work) and Blochs/flats and loafers on the weekend.

I also would like some new suede (grey) knee high boots. I tried on the Jigsaw slouch and they fit well but the heel is so high and although I love being tall I just don't want to do such a high heel at present. Cowboy boots on my feet look silly too (well in my opinion - got about three pairs stuffed at the back of my wardrobe waiting for an outing too).

Any ideas? Are you still awake? Confused.

I am not very good at linking, must practise.

LetThemEatCake · 09/10/2010 00:09

I recently bought these which are lovely - not too high

have you looked on asos - have applied search parameters 8/ boot/ shoe boot/ black/ mid heel and this is what comes up - sone quite decent i think?

I had some grey suedey slouch boots last year from (sshhhh..) Next. Totally flat though - bit of a heel would have been good.

For day I am currently doing biker boots/ Belstaff long boots/ ash high tops/ blochs. But am not in office ...

DTI10 · 09/10/2010 00:26

Argghhhh just lost a long post to you but in essence.....

Asos size 8 never fit me. I must be a 43 (10) - nooooooooo. I did have my feet measured in that funky machine in Clarks and I was a definite 42! I do love those Asos Autograph mini cuff boots - might try those but am holding out for the Aldos too.

Edelman's are lovely but sold out in 41! I have Edelman gladiators and they were a good fit for the Summer. Are the boots baggy around the ankle?

I too have the N**t boots. Too flat and in the hallway cupboard I think.

I loved the Tory Burch boots you linked to the other day, sold out in my/our size too! I shop online at night (no time during the day and stuck in an office with limited internet access). I need to get to the shops more often.

Belstaffs - I have not tried them although I do like the look of them. Sizing?

DH has just come back in so I am going to sign off shortly. Wish I could come to the meet up and talk shoes, shoes and shoes but it is DS birthday party and I will be shattered.....

Thanks to you and apple99 again Smile

LTEC what size Belstaffs do you wear. I bought a pair of Belstaff barkmaster boots here but in black recently in a 41 and couldn't even get my foot in the left one.

Love these but not available in a 41.

DTI10 · 09/10/2010 09:52

apple - love those Ash jeff boots!

Try calling Lux (in Bath). I got the Iman's from them - sent back though. That style seems to come up small.

Am loving those Belstaffs too - might be too gappy on me though. Need to go and try some on!

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 09/10/2010 11:19

I've got these ones in a 41. I do have to undo all the fastenings to get them on (high instep) and the left is a teeny bit tight but will give over the course of winter, I'm sure.

I am today wearing my supremely comfortable short biker boots - size 41

DTI10 · 09/10/2010 11:31

LTEC - I think your feet must be a small 41 (is that possible?). I have never, ever been able to get any shoes from Primarni - size 8 is way too small for me Confused.

Apple99 did you try Lux?

OP posts:
OllieWollieWoo · 09/10/2010 11:54

Blossoming hope you had a lovely day out. This raspberry coat in new in at Kew - any good? here

OllieWollieWoo · 09/10/2010 12:45

Oops - sorry - wrong thread!

apple99 · 09/10/2010 16:40

Thanks DTI10 will give Lux a try and report back.

Most frustrating as have been out all day to return home with new boots for DD and DH and none for me as I just can't concentrate on shopping with family in tow!!
