I'm thinking of getting one (well = for Christmas from DH!)

Stupid question - do the beads slide up and down or do they stay in place?

I'm only planning on maybe having 1 or 2 beads to start with and then adding more over time...

They move, you can buy things to keep them in place though but they only clip on to 2 parts of the bracelet.

They move, although i assume as you fill up the bracelet with charms they move less!! The spacers "divide" the bracelet into sections so the charms just move between the spacers.

The bracelet is split into three sections by two threads part way round that you have to screw the beads over which keeps them in the various position that you want. You can buy clips to cover up the thread if you don't want them on show

One last question - on the pretty glass beads, the only thing putting me off (oddly) is the bit which says Pandora on the side. Do you really see it/notice it? Is it as obvious as it looks when i look on the pandora website?

No you can hardly see it.
