help! I need to get a fabulous outfit for a wedding

BUT - I haven't worn a skirt or dress for 6 years, I hate with a vengance my upper arms, bum, knees and feet - all must be covered at all costs. I am a size 10, sounds slim to most people, but I am a tiny build so size 10 for me means lots of fat and flab which is the rason I never dress up or go shopping Sad I am 5ft 5". Did I mention I want to look fabulous?

I have been thinking that some kind of trouser suit would work best for me and there would be a chance I would wear it again, rather than a dress which would be wasted. I am not sure what my budget would be, maybe up to (with emphasis on the up!) £200

please help me as I don't know where to begin, I am starting to get so stressed I have even thought of cancelling which I really don't want to do.

OK if you are 5ft5 and a size 10 you are not fat.

I think a long sleeved knee length dress with lovely shoes would be a good bet.

What colours do you like?

I just think a trouser suit will look a bit worky.

This is fab Anglomania dresses are cut so brilliantly far hiding your flaws but being va va voom! Also would recommend some spanx underneath for general smoothing of lines.

With some high black patent heels and a clutch bag - you would look fab.

sorry i had to do bedtimes.

i like most colours except yellow and brown

parts of my body I do like hmm............if pushed i would say my calfs, shoulders and oh god i can't think of a 3rd, my skin?

the wedding is October 1st.

is a trouser suit really out of the queston then Sad tracybath?

I like the anglomania dress but is it too clingy, great for showing off curves but not so for flabby bits, I am considering it though

you won't beleive how scared I am of wearing a dress and heels!!

please keep the ideas coming......

I want that Anglomania dress. It's gorgeous!
I agree that trouser suits can look a bit office-ie at a wedding. I'm a very curvy and lumpy size 14 and I'd wear that dress with spanx.

atah · 15/09/2010 21:47

what is spanx Blush

Control pants that suck you in. They are like shorts over your thighs and meet our bra. I have these M&S ones and wear them every day.

OMG!!

how did I not know about these? they will change my life, i will buy them at the weekend then let myself loose on dresses for the 1st time in years.

I can actually see myself in a dress at last - but which one??

Think it's a bug, because the url that shows up when you hover is a coast one.
