I want a make-up lesson. One of those ones where the cost is redeemable against purchases.

Which would you well-groomed beauties recommend (or suggest I avoid)?

TIA

Mac, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Space NK (my favourite brand there is By Terry and their make-up experts come to the store regularly to do make-overs (they are pricy, though!).

Mac, Bobbi Brown or Space NK. What is your budget as all can be pricey!

BelieveInLife · 15/09/2010 18:17

Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier

MAC do them but their counter assistants can be scarily done themselves.

Laura Mercier and Estee Lauder both did mine for free and gave me loads of hints and tips so not a lesson as such be really valuable. I went to them because I liked the look of the way the counter assistants themselves were made up.

Steer clear of anyone whose personal style you don't like e.g. if they've got really heavy eye make-up chances are they'll do that on you, so if that's not your cup of tea don't go there.

MAC.

They have proper make-up artists and not just sales assistants. They do have quite 'extreme' make-up on themselves sometimes, but disregard that. They will ask you what you want and try and stick to that. If you don't like it they will do something else.

They do a make up lesson for £50 and it includes you applying the make-up yourself under their guidance, so you'll really be able to see if you can get it right. It takes 90 minutes or so and you get the £50 to spend on comsetics.
