Ok, I'm pissed off and I look a beasty frump. I can't get to any proper shops as I live in the back of beyone a rather small town.

Sooo. I am lookng to you lot to tell me if I am deluded and being distracted by the shiny lights of the Zara website.

I have medium build, 5ft 10. SO far so good. BUT I am overweight, large arms, waist and thighs growing every day. I have slim hips. I am a size 14-16 bottom and 18 top [big boobs]

Would these trousers with a similar top and these look truly terrible? They seem reasonably fitted through the hip and bottom so I might not be too bad in them?

Or shall I stick to my Boden sailor pants nad some ballet flats and stop being silly? I just feel such a frump on the school run!

The trousers would be nice I think - but the shoes are not.

How about trying the trousers either with a wedge heel or with some of the lovely brogues that are everywhere at the mo?

treedelivery · 12/09/2010 22:04

Please suggest brouges? I have no knowledge!

Can't do any heels of any sort, I feel to tall and awkward as it is. A total cop out know, and everything looks better wth heels doesn't it. I'd look crazy though, and 6ft 1" with zero grace.

I think the shoes as a concept are okay. Could be wrong, but isn't the preppie look coming in this season?

I know I keep seeing penny loafers everywhere.

But, as Ghoul says, brogues are in as well - depends how 'masculine'-looking you'd feel comfortable with.

I'd guess you have relatively small hips, so the trousers should be fine - I like them, anyway.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 12/09/2010 23:26

Brogues these are rather on the manly side, which is fine if that's what suits you. I've also seen them with a more feminine cut.

I scared of brouges HmmGrin

I have ordered! Even the shoes. If they are horrible horrids I'm going to try NewLook for cheap brouges. I have no money so I am sort of hoping it all looks crap so I cen send back without feeling too blue. Although £25 for trousers isn't a huge amount in any way. So maybe I could stretch to them if I look like a uber cool mamma.

Thank you for advice Smile I'll let you know how depressing trying on day is.

Topshop and Urban Outfitters both have some cute brogues. The brown/tan ones seem less scary thean black imho - black can look a bit 'Policewoman' iygwim!
