Eyelash extensions?

Ladies, has anyone had eyelash extensions ?? How have they been? Are they just attached to your own eyelashes (mine are fairly thin) or are they also attached to your eyelid? Complete novice here and very curious. A couple of ladies at work have them and they look amazing .. how much upkeep is involved, and do they damage your own eyelashes?

All help gratefully accepted.

I had some when the first came out - these.

They are stuck to your own lashes, not your eyelids. It takes a while to get it done though - I think about two hours. It's worth it although I picked mine off after a couple of days as they were annoying me.

I quite often wear individual false lashes and you can get these applied at beauty salons. May be worth trying these first as it would be less expensive but would give you a view of what to expect and if you like how they look, etc.

I had some for my wedding. They were attached to my laskes and took about an hour, for £70. My friend is a beautician though so I had it for free, bless her!

They lasted about 4 weeks, as they grow out. You can't use oil based make up remover with them, and no waterproof mascara although you don't really need any.

I was given a comb for them to stop tangling.

They do look fab.

I've worn extensions for about a year, they attach onto your own lash and fall out when your natural lash does. I love them, mine are not too long so look very natural but better. I've not worn mascara since having them so it makes getting ready very easy..

I paid about £50 for the full set, then have infills every 2 weeks, costs about £15-20..

They're amazing...........

My best friend is a beautician so she does mine for £7...

Don't go the full hog though- I prefer getting my outer lashes lengthened (if you get what I mean.) Makes your eyes much bigger and brighter!

All good advice there, thanks ladies. Now just have to find someone I trust to do them. I did find details for a salon in London (that I know some work people go to) but anyone know anyone they'd recommend in or around Colchester, Essex?
