the perfect jeans - HELP

POFAKKEDDthechair · 09/09/2010 19:30

since having children I have only found one pair of jeans [TK max jobbie] that fit. They are now falling apart. I have searched everywhere and cannot find anything similar. Will spend a lot to get a nice pair [I mean up to 100 quid]
I am size 10 with slim legs and bum but a bit of a tummy. So jeans that often fit me comfortable around waist are baggy on bum and thighs. I want stretch jeans [to get around tummy] that go over my tummy, so high waisted, otherwise they give me a permanent builder's bum. And nice and skinny legs.

HELP!

not your daughters jeans are amazing, they are pricey but worth it, some of the designs are a bit mumsy but i've a lovely pair of plain dark denim nydj's they give you a very flat stomach and make you look at least one if not 2 dress sizes smaller.

mysteryfairy · 09/09/2010 19:43

what about these: eu.levi.com/en_GB/shop/products/curveid_jeans here

mysteryfairy · 09/09/2010 19:45

POFAKKEDDthechair · 09/09/2010 19:51

couldn't get the levis link mysteryfairy!

The NYDJ look interesting froggie, thanks for that. They're not too, erm, mature, are they? Grin

OP posts:
chocolatefroggie · 09/09/2010 20:14

well they can be, but I just picked a plain pair and they don't have labels proclaiming the brand all over so technically no-one should know Grin
I think their these in dk blue
I'm 26 btw so not very mature myself Grin

chocolatefroggie · 09/09/2010 20:15

they're not their aargh

POFAKKEDDthechair · 09/09/2010 20:58

Seven for all Mankind!!. So lovely and flattering.

I got some from TK Maxx for £40 recently - if you register for Brand Alley there are always 7's in the sale for £50 ish.

pointydog · 09/09/2010 21:08

But does it really make sense to blow £150+ on jeans?

Have you tried french connection? Quite a slim hipped fit I find.

chocolatefroggie · 09/09/2010 21:09

I like the second pair high waist's are good I've got a pair of 7fam high waist skinny bootcut's and the high waist is very flattering - much less muffin top/ bum cleavage!

POFAKKEDDthechair · 09/09/2010 21:11

Ooh noticed 7 for all mankind on john lewis website - are they good?

Have tried French connection pointy - but can't find high waisted jeans there at all. And any high waisted jeans I try on in the high st are all baggy around my thighs, might as well grow a mullet. Grin

chocolatefroggie · 09/09/2010 21:13

7's are amazing I am in love with my new pair! much softer than cheap denim but don't go baggy and saggy after 5 minutes wear

POFAKKEDDthechair · 09/09/2010 21:15

right off to look for 7's.

OP posts:
pointydog · 09/09/2010 21:15

ah right. Didn't see the high waisted request.

POFAKKEDDthechair · 09/09/2010 21:15

where did you get them froggie?

OP posts:
chocolatefroggie · 09/09/2010 21:17

pointy dog - I know this is what i always thought but I wwould probably spend close to that on an outfit for a wedding and hardly wear it, whereas I'm a sahm and I live in jeans so I decided that price per wear they were actually a sound investment Grin but then when it comes to shopping I am able to justify anything Blush

chocolatefroggie · 09/09/2010 21:20

john lewis mine are these I think the guinevere style comes in high waist as does roxanne

Alouiseg · 09/09/2010 21:22

I tried on NYDJ yesterday, I thought they were horrendous actually although I loved yelling from the changing room "the 8's are huge do you have any 6's?

The sizing is ridiculous and the cut is frumpy with the added delights of a camel hoof!

Flossie69 · 09/09/2010 21:24

Have you tried Per Una from M&S? I have bought a pair of these. They are a really good fit, slimming on legs and bum but with a bit of stretch to cover tummy. I admittedly went for size 12, but can really recommend. And not too pricey, so surely worth a go?

chocolatefroggie · 09/09/2010 21:24

The sizing is American so if your an eight you need to try on a 4 otherwise they will look very odd as I said some of the styles are bleugh but I got a nice plain pair

POFAKKEDDthechair · 09/09/2010 22:23

thanks for the per una tip. Will look our for those. Our M&S is horrendous, no stock and stuff mostly on floor - but might try to brave it.
Am liking the sound of 7faM. Wish I could try them on somewhere.
Camel hoof.

But thanks for all the tips.

Gap Curvy?

VictoriaandBump · 10/09/2010 05:16

Hi, I noticed you linked to some James jeans - just thought I'd let you know they have some amazing bargains on the outnet site at the minute. I just bought a pair for £56 and they fit really well, and the waist is nice and high for holding in tummy! I'm a largish 10 and the 29 waist is a great fit. Up till now I've only ever bought high street jeans but I'm a total convert.
