A friend of mine works for a very well known up market clothing range.
They are looking at getting into the plus size area.
She knew that I used MN so I thought I would ask.
What clothing brands do plus size? What is good about them?

If you know any online only brands please let me know.

So far I have
Dorothy Perkins - Hit and miss
Evens - ugly, cheap and nasty
Monsoon
M&S
Wallis
La Redoute
Gap
H&M
New Look
Boden

Thanks

Uniqlo tops can be generous enough for an 18-20
Betty Jackson Black is my choice for work wardrobe. It's the only brand I've found that design for women with boobs and hips.
Long Tall Sally go up to a 24
Littlewoods do plus sizes online though I've never bought any.
Phase 8 design well for the larger woman thugh they only go up to an 18

My problem with most plus sizes is they are obviously just scaled up small sizes. As a result the proportions are often out. Sleeves can be too tight (a real pain for a muscle bound swimmer like me), armholes are either gaping or constricting and breasts are simply not catered for. The waistline is my biggest bugbear. I find most of them seem to think it sits somewhere in the middle of my ribs. I do have a waist (somewhere) but I avoid buying anything fitted as the waist sits either on top of my ribs (shere I can't make it go any smaller) or at the largest point of my belly. Betty Jackson Black is the noted exception here.
