What to wear at a funeral?

I know I'm going to wear black trousers but I am wondering, would a cardigan be appropriate or do I have to have a smart jacket? The only smart jacket I have is green so I would have to buy another one.

I think a cardie is fine. I wore a dark grey dress and dark blue cardie to one recently and felt it was appropriate.

As long as smart and clean, then any colour is fine. There is no need for all black.
