I was just wondering if you would please have a look at my ebay auctions and tell me what I am doing wrong. All my items are beautiful I don't understand why they are not selling. My user name is
louisa.nippress

thank you much appreciated!

that's one way of getting more people to look at them!

Compo

People who buy used baby clothes will not bid if you start the bidding too high.

poptot · 01/09/2005 15:25

I would agree possibly your starting prices are too high and could you do them on a 7 day listing, someone once said it was best to get them to end on a weekend as well.

BLANKfloozypuddingandpie · 01/09/2005 15:29

And a good time to end is around 8-9pm.

flashingnose · 01/09/2005 15:32

According to article in the Sunday Times, best time to end auctions on ebay for baby/kids stuff is Sunday evening.

GeorgieVickyLou · 01/09/2005 15:33

I agree, you need to do at least a 7 day or even a 10 day listing (if you do ten then put them on so the catch both weekends - more people look on weekends!) I'll bid on something if it has a really low start price then get sucked into a bidding war with some one and pay far to much for something that i didn't even want..

laughinglil · 01/09/2005 15:43

but say I put something up for say 50p say and it went for 50p if I had paid a lot for the item I would be so upset! I don't think my stuff is over priced...maybe compared to some others it may be

I agree w/BLANK, the stuff's too expensive to start bidding on.

A lot of the reason I don't use Ebay is b/c I find seller's greedy.

Sure, it's nice stuff. But at the end of the day, unless it's BNWT, it's used.

cupcakes · 01/09/2005 19:18

Unfortunately I think they are also too small in age - people like to buy ahead. You'll find when you're selling age 2 clothes you'll get a better response!

laughinglil · 01/09/2005 20:13

I will sell some 18m soon! I have put a designer item up extremly cheap...just to see how it goes! thanks for your opinions everyone.

Completely agree with the others about the pricing. I wouldn't pay £4.50 for a used T shirt. Also, a lot seems to be more summery so wouldn't sell as we approach autumn/winter - maybe hold back these items for next spring?

Yes, it's upsetting if you have to sell some stuff for a silly price but, at the end of the day, it's more than you'd get if you left it in the loft or gaveit to charity. You tend to get some stuff which sells for way more than you expected which balances it out though. Good luck!

laughinglil · 01/09/2005 20:21

do things sell well if u sell them in bundles? for example I have 4 sets of trousers and jumper outfits from next.. all bnwt but all the same size. So do I sell them individually or as a whole?

And make a point of mentioning the other sets in each description (with a link?)

BLANKfloozypuddingandpie · 01/09/2005 20:24

If you put a bundle on I might bid!

laughinglil · 01/09/2005 20:28

off to take some photos!

Always list a 10 day auction - start it on a Thursday night at the time you want it to finish on the last Sunday. This means you will get maximum exposure.

You also have a winter outfit up, and looking at your completed items, this is the thid time you have listed it? Sell such clothes at the start of the appropriate season.

I do agree with what others have said about the start prices btw.

Good luck in the future
