Johnnie B sizing?

I am sure it's been done but can anyone tell me what a size 8 equates too?

in trousers you will need a 30L, in dresses and tops either a medium or large.

I thought 30 was size 10? Is Johnnie B a little smaller then?
I've just ordered some long sleeved tops in large and I'm a 10/12. Here's hoping!

I am a size 8 Morag and would have ordered the 28 based on general sizing. However, I couldn't even get the 28's past mid-thigh!! 30 is a good comfortable fit.
