Breasfeeding friendly outfit for DS's christening?

I need a nice outfit for DS's christening in three weeks. Currently wearing vest & t-shirt combo with combats, pretty scruffy and couldn't go to church like that (although do on a sunday, but that's different)

I will probably have to get norks out at some point so needs to be accessible.

Areas of concern: jelly belly, oversize norks and bingo wings.

Thanks in advance :)

Had a similar dilemma a few weeks ago for a wedding and found a pretty breastfeeding dress at bellamama.com but have found good dresses at Bravissimo before, they seem to always make my boobs a little more decent!

Good luck :).

Dress with v neck

Vest underneath

Vest up when ready to feed

Boob out of bra and tummy stays covered

I never bothered with breastfeeding dresses - something with a wee bit of stretch will be fine

My DS was christened 2 weeks ago, I didn't want to buy a dedicated breastfeeding dress, I wanted something I could wear again, I bought this...

I wore black peep toe shoes and a fab necklace, that I will also link if I can find it!
Incidentally my DS screamed the whole time but I didn't want to feed him in church, afterwards I told the vicar that if I'd have fed him (for comfort) he'd have stopped but didn't feel like I could in church, he said 'Dont be silly, I wish you had, then we could have all enjoyed the service a bit more!'

This was the necklace...

Sorry to keep posting... my areas of concern are the same as yours, but I'm a size 12. I got lots if genuine compliments. I wore those hold your tummy in pants and a good nursing bra. And bingo wings were hidden by the sleeves!

I had a lovely top from New Look for DS2's christening - it was hook and eye round the boobs, but no fastenings on the belly so it went on like a t-shirt. It looked smart, flattered the tummy, but the hook and eye meant I could breastfeed discreetly in the church during the service.

Definately a nice wrapover top. If you feel like it, put a crop top or boob tube underneath so that you can lift that up and top to the side, showing practically no skin. Otherwise, a nice scarf/pashmina-y thing over your shoulder hiding the skin.

I wore one of these for DD2's christening - i think it was the sophia in jadey-green. it's nice and it works but, er, the opening wasn't quite big enough for my norkage..HW it was doable...
agree that accessories are The Way Forward. wear an enormous startling necklace and no-one will comment on your boobs
and tummy-wise get some enormous hold it in pants but go for the really high ones else it all oodles out at the top... at least it does with me Blush
have fun though!!! and don't forget the banners you bought, or the balloons, or the Slideshow your DH spent some time putting together on the laptop....just enjoy it x

Oh I really like the Phase8 dress and necklace.

Now on sizing, I am a 14 at the moment in bottoms and tops, should I go for a 14 or 16?

i think you should order both ( free returns)

normally jersey is a bit stretchy but you dont want it clinging on the tum and bum

i find phase eight sizing unreliable. i have jersey dresses from last year that i had to buy in a large to accommodate my 32FFs, even though i am otherwise a size 10

i tried on a few fitted dresses in store last week and the size 10 was genereous ( didnt have time to try the 8s)

OK thanks everyone I bought the Phase Eight purple harvest dress today! I went out to the shops as I know House of Fraser stock Phase Eight. But they didn't have any of this style.

Decided to go to Debenhams for a coffee and there, outside the cafe was the Phase Eight section with this dress in my size, right there in front of me!!
