Boden coat recommendation

... I'm going to recommend something from Boden! I ordered this from Boden at the beginning of August. Whilst waiting for delivery, I bought a Comptoir Des Cotonniers trench - lovely on, really warm, not waterproof but that's not an issue. Then the Boden parcel arrived after lunch. I should just have filled in the returns form without taking it out of the bag and I certainly shouldn't have tried it on. It's lovely! Nice shape, showerproof (as the blurb says), nice colour and will be lovely with jeans and boots. Only negative is that it's not a really heavy, warm coat ... but with a jumper and scarf, it'll be fine on a cold day.

DH says keep it ... I'm just thinking of the jeans and boots I really need want . Still, for all you coat-searchers, it's nice

Can i ask what size and shape you are? and what colour did you order?

i was thinking about the rain day coat.

Am 5'7 and an 8/10. Ordered a 10 and it's fine - in the olive. It's barbour-esque come to think of it. Also, has contrast stitching which it doesn't on the website. Would be better without it but is fine with it. Rainy day coat is lovley too.

Notice they've reduced prices - already??

Millie1 hello! Glad you are back. Yesterday I went shpping- saw your Compt. coat- nice yes, but I am too short for epaulettes.

I also received and promptly returned the WC grey tunic. Disappointing- too long for me and arms way too long. Had a good look round shop but didn't see anything else- tried on a couple of dresses but bit on frumpy side. Nice cash, cardis ( long ) etc but ££££s.

Also don't know if it was just that WC shop or all assistants very pushy- pounced on as soon as I walked in "Was I looking for myself or for a present" and 5 minutes later "can you find what you need". very offputting.

I bought pair of leggings at Uniqlo and ordered the empire tunic from Boden in grey. Have also ordered a tunic from Mint velvet in purple ( not sure about that and might exchange for dark grey if I like the style.)

Interesting about your Boden parka. I need a rain type coat but bought the velvet pea coat which is nice .

Hi Purple What a pity about the WC tunic - great that you got into the store though, even with pushy assistants. If there's one thing that drives me mad it's pushy assistants - it's enough to make me turn and leave . Cardi's all look lovely on-line and in catalogue but agree re ££££s.

What are Uniglo leggings like? Are they a good fit on slim pins? Should I wear knitted or jersey (you know what i mean!) leggings with a knitted tunic?

Tried the Parka on again. It is lovely on, very flattering but I really don't think it's going to be a warm and toasty coat - although with knitwear and a scarf it would probably be fine for me as I spend my life running between places in the car. Boden reviews are really quite accurate. Really didn't have any intention of keeping it but DH pointed out that CDC coat is dressier and Boden might be better suited for my 'slobbing' about days. Just had a look at your Peacoat - it's gorgeous, what colour did you go for?

Uniqlo leggings seem okay- but they are long- but i am only 5'3". They are easily 4 inches too long. At £6.99 it was a bit of an experiment. I am wearing with boots so will just turn up. I bought a M as I didn't want a tight fit, though I wear a S or XS in their Ts and tops.

I am waiting for a Boden pair to come too- 20% off.

I bought the mouse pea coat. It's a pinky/beige/brown- taupe is the posh word. Toyed with the charcoal but have a black coat and a Boden boiled wool one from last year in charcoal.

Jersey leggings I think with the tunic but you could wear both. ( not at same time!)
