Boden Jersey Tea Dress, it pongs to high heaven

Im surprised by how much I like this tea dress. Its is totally flattering and the colours lovely. Obviously being Boden it will need some jewellery to stop it being too middleaged but I am pleased.

Except.... it stinks to high heaven, practically knoced me out. Not of body ordour as such but of old tramps. I actually feel sick.

I rang them and they are replacing it although the new one is in the wash. Its my birthday this weekend, was planning on wearing it

i wonder if it was the plastic wrapping it came in - sometimes that can make things stink.

Wear it now that you've washed it - you can always return the other one.

I wonder if its because of the bank holiday and its taken longer than usual to arrive?

i think all new clothing smells a bit odd. Can you not wash it? do a quick wash or freshen up program on the machine or air it outside?

I never wash clothes before I wear them. I feel bad now!

Recently, I've bought two things (John Lewis tights and Esprit jeggings) that smell as if they've been treated with a "freshly washed" odour. I've been unable to wear them without feeling nauseous after a couple of hours. Has anyone else bought new clothes that smell like this? It was EXACTLY the same smell although the clothes were from different places.

How strange. Ive washed the teadress and it looks like it has washed up well. I dont cope well with smells at all. There is no way I couldve wore it without being paranoid.

I dont normally wash before I wear.
