Hollister - US prices

Not my cup of tea but 13 year old cousin is asking for some bits when I go to the states. Everytime I try and get onto the US site it gives me the prices in sterling.

Anyone know whether it will be cheaper over in the states?

Are you using the Hollister Co Website? At the moment a boys hoodie runs around $50 to $60 US dollars. A tee shirt is around $15 to $20. Remember to navigate through the pouting shop assistants in the semi-gloom to the the back of the shop where the sale stuff is hidden. I bought a boys shirt for $10 the other day and it is really good quality.

You can't get on the US website if you have a UK IP address, same with Abercrombie & Fitch.

This is basically because everything is twice the price in the UK, it is MASSIVELY cheaper in the US, more on a par with Gap prices over here.

Thanks for letting me know that!! At least I can make one teenager very happy. I will get her to write a list from the uk site with the prices and take it with me.

I dont get A & f at all do you?

I think some of their stuff is nice, but only for slumming around in and only at the price they sell it for in the US, it is ridiculous that they charge £80 for a flaming hoodie over here and even more ridiculous that people pay that!

In the US it isn't seen so much as a premium brand as it is over here, every school/college kid is kitted out in it.

the boys hoodies here are £40-60 so Im guessing its dollars for pounds.

Hollister is like a uniform isnt it? The teenagers today arent as imaginative as we were!! I hope I dont have to buy four pairs of Uggs while Im there!!!

Quick question, if I may. Is Hollister the new Abercrombie & Fitch? Or more for older kids?

kittya · 01/09/2010 19:30

From what I can gather it is the cheaper version of Abercrombie but the same company.

A certain type of teenager goes for it.
