Hi,

Very exciting time in our household, we are starting Ballet and Gymnastics in a week or so. Where in London should I go to get the leotards for both? Preferably somewhere in central or north london if you have any ideas, as I don't know where to start.

Thanks!

How far north?

Hi, I always purchase on-line from www.dancemania.biz. They have a good selection and are prompt with delivery

Dancia are in Covent Garden.

You might want to consider getting ballet leotards only for now - my DDs wore their ballet leotards to gym for the first term (as did most of the children in the class), and I only bought gym leotards when I was sure they liked it and were going to continue.

If they are quite young I don't think gym classes would have a problem with that.

Dancia have a branch in Whetstone too.

Ballet schools often have uniform for sale second hand. Worth asking the teacher.

also brace yourself for the cost of a gymnastics leotard.

shopalot · 01/09/2010 16:34

Definitely check with ballet teacher re uniform as usually we are very strict as they all have to be the sameSmile

Still need some recommendation, girls! I have decided to take it up too ;)

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 12/02/2017 13:45

Check with the dance school and gym exactly what colours they need as you dont want to buy the wrong thing and not be able to take it back!

dancemom · 12/02/2017 13:47

Yy to checking most gym clubs and dance schools have their own uniform

jelliedeel · 12/02/2017 19:55

The zone has some of the best leotards available. They also do well on eBay once they're too small.

DelphiniumBlue · 12/02/2017 20:01

There's an independent shop in Southgate ( N14) called Rodwins, very near the tube station, think it does leotards and dance shoes, also craft supplies and toys, always found them helpful.

xyzandabc · 12/02/2017 20:06

Have you checked with both dance and gym that there isn't a strict uniform. Both of ours are very prescriptive, even down to the socks for ballet. That said, at both dance and gym the children are allowed to wear legging/shorts and t-shirts for the 1st few weeks until you're sure they're going to stay with it. No-one expects you to have full uniform on the 1st day.

Decathlon do ballet and gymnastics leotards.

tatshark · 20/02/2017 11:25

I bought gymnastic leotards for my daughters online at the gymnastic leotard stores (this one is worth checking gb.rg-leotard.com/ ).
Here is the one I've recently ordered for my 14 years old DD.
