What to wear for a hen night????

So I'm going on a hen night in a few weeks. The girl getting married is in her early twenties so I think there will be lots of "young people" present, as well as some who are a bit older.

So far, the venue is unknown. All that has been said is that it is from 4.30pm on the Saturday til 5am on the Sunday (OMG!!!!!) and it will be somewhere in London. I am therefore guseeing at swanky bars/clubs.

WTF should I wear????????

I am the last person to be able to offer advice but thought I should bump for you. (can you not ask any of the bright young things what they are wearing?)

I think separates might be easier so a nice skirt (pencil maybe?) and a nice sparkly top. What sort of body shape are you and I'll try and find some link?

superv1xen · 31/08/2010 19:27

how old are you?

traceybath · 31/08/2010 19:29

Yeap - how old, colouring, size and budget.

Are we talking primarni or netaporter?

I'd go for a dress personally but lets have some more info please.

dark rinse skinny jeans, heels, black blazer, top
or
tunic, leggings / skinny trousers, heels
or
dress, long skinny cardigan or blazer, wedges

Dark coloured skinny jeans
with here from New Look, together with a loose cardigan (for during the day). I wore this last weekend and the top is great in photo's, so pretty. I wore skinny jeans and flat sandals.

Thanks for the replies and sorry it's taken me so long to come back!

I am 34, 5ft and a size 12. I am also your typical pear shape. Colouring wise, quite English rose skin, medium brown hair.

As for a budget!!! What a laugh! My plan is to decide on a look then scrutinise my wardrobe and the wardrobes of my friends!

I love the idea of a pencil skirt, but with my height (or lack of) I struggle with lots of styles, pencil skirts included.

What's the item in your wardrobe that you think you look best in?

feedmenow · 01/09/2010 19:54

I have 2 dresses I love and that I think I look good in, but I can't wear either of them to a hen do. One of them I will be wearing to the actual wedding and the other is more of a day dress.

I have some black skinny jeans which I could beg/steal or borrow a top to go with but are black skinny jeans acceptable attire for London bars and clubs? And what sort of top should I go for? Something glam and sparkly do you think?

I think skinny jeans are perfect for a night out. A blazer is nice - or a man's suit jacket, and a top with a bit of sparkle underneath.

I'd much rather be the one in jeans when everyone else is freezing in skimpy dresses, than the other way round.

pack a nice pair of ballet flats unless you are great on heels as your feet will be aching later!!
