Please help me, I have a sprouting mole!

Ahhhh I have a little mole on my chin (always been there) which has always had a tiny little hair. I haven't cared about it before but now it's got longer - about a centimetre long - and there are two more, and it's vile! I feel like a scary old witch with silver hairs sprouting out of my chin :(

What's the best way to get rid of it? I can't afford anything expensive... Plucking? (I'm a bit afraid of that, it seems as though it will be painful.) Hair removal cream? Just cutting it off with scissors? (Doubtful...)

Please tell me what you think I should do, I hate it and it's making me feel ugly and ashamed. I'm off to the chemist this afternoon to pick up a prescription, so if there's a solution I can get there, that would be great.

Just pluck the little feckers out!

teahouse · 31/08/2010 14:54

ditto Jazzicatz - plucking them out won't hurt much - promise

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 31/08/2010 14:58

pluck, pluck, pluck. It doesn't hurt too much although plucking is always more painful around your period.

I have two hairy moles one on my cheek and one on my neck. Nice.

AnakisT · 31/08/2010 14:59

Pluck it!! It really isn't bad, my chin mole spouts regularly now, i just pluck at the same time i do my eyebrow maintenance.

Feel no shame, we all have our secrets, let it stay between you and the tweezers...........

OhBuggerandArse · 31/08/2010 15:00

Pluck it. Is deeply satisfactory, like picking a really good scab.

I thought you weren't supposed to mess with moles? I pluck other chin hairs, but the one on my mole I just cut off with scissors as close as possible.

My GP told me there was no reason at all not to pluck. It's not really invasive, I think what they want you to to avoid is DIY mole surgery...

greygirl · 31/08/2010 15:21

you could shave it with a razor

GetOrfMoiLand · 31/08/2010 15:22

I have one on my neck which sprouts. I am very pale and blonde but the hairs which come out of that are thick and black and witchy.

I just pluck them out. It takes bloody ages to do, I look in the mirror and try and tweeze, but you know what it's like when you try and manouvre yourself whilst looking in a mirror, you always go the wrong way. So it is usually 10 minutes of plucking thin air before I get the little fecker.

What concerns me is what happens when I reach an age where I can't be arsed any more. I will have little grandchildren who will be scared of cuddling hag-like granny with the 5 inch long black hair sprouting from mole.

Yes, I'd heard you weren't meant to pluck moles... Anyone know? If everyone else says it's okay, I will give it a go tonight. Thanks!
