What do you think of this for SIL's wedding - not loving myself at the moment

What does everyone think of this for my SIL's wedding this weekend? Will this dress save me from my drab, dull wardrobe?
Almost 8 months on and having miserably failed to lose baby weight...I'm feeling quite yeuch about myself. I've never been this big before (I'm a size12/14) and feel very insecure about my body now. I know it doesn't sound big but I'm used to being a 6/8. My fat is in all the wrong places...no waist? check. broad chest/shoulders? check. flabby thighs? check. etc. etc. blah blah blah. So I need something that with the help of spanx will cover it al up.
Also, advice on Planet sizing please?
Thanks!

Lovely dress. Would keep any accessories plain and simple though.

Can't help on Planet's sizing these days - although they always used to be 'average' I think.

Spanx always help - plus some wedges to add height and reduce BMI Wink? 12/14 not that big though - but I know it's all about the change.

what colouring are you? blonde fair or blond brown or aubunr or brunette??

MadwoMen · 30/08/2010 20:09

Thanks both.
I'm black (medium colouring) - Bold colours and "watery" colours, pastels look good on me. Not keen on red. I could do with just covering up waist, tummy, "back fat" I feel like wearing something with a print or one of those dramatic maxi dresses that push up the cleavage, empire line but not too wide at the bottom. Need shoulder straps to break up wide chest.

Was thinking of that with either silvery or black flat sandals. I'll have the baby and my dd to cope with so not sure about anything with a heel. Some pave diamond earings, a simple bangle et voila?

Et voila indeed (a favourite phrase of my ds, aged 5, at the moment, btw). I think it's lovely.
