Does anyone use Bio-Oil on their face?

Have never tried Bio-Oil but am thinking of trying an oil for a daily mosituriser or night cream. Is there any reason why Bio-oil wouldn't be suitable?

I started using it when I had chicken pox and carried on until the bottle had been used. It is lush but would say only as a night moisturiser, it is quite smelly (in a nice way)

I do, I love it. I have quite dry skin and it's great.
Personally I like the smell, but depending on what skin type you have you may find it to rich for a day cream, you have to make sure it's completely absorbed before attempting to put any make up on.

I would highly recommend it tho, and you only need a couple of drops for you face so it works out very good value.

I would test a little bit overnight on another part of your body, bio-oil makes me very itchy.

FranSanDisco · 30/08/2010 16:45

I have used it during the winter when my face can get quite dry. It's lovely but not great for applying make up over.

Also, when using as a day cream, don't forget to use a separate SPF.

I use to rub on scars, eg if I have a spot.

I've also used it to heal spot scars quicker, and as a general night moisturiser, think it could possibly be to oily for day use, depends how dry your skin is.

PaulineCampbellJones · 30/08/2010 18:31

I use it at night too. It's really good.

SandyChick · 30/08/2010 18:55

I use it as a night cream. I have sensitive skin and it's fine. Only need a few drops. I use it in face, kneck & chest at night. Also stick a bit on my legs and hands too. It isn't actually that oily once it has been absorbed after a few mins. I would definitely recommend.

minibmw2010 · 30/08/2010 19:57

I use it as a body cream, its done wonders on the skin on my upper chest .. and my arms are great and soft .. but I would imagine its a bit too greasy for regular use on your face.

Did'nt find it great on my face, it did'nt really do much but great on body.

willybreeder · 30/08/2010 22:13

I have combination skin with some open pores and it was terrible for me! Lots of sore spots which took a while to clear.

Honeydragon · 30/08/2010 22:15

I use the poundland equivlant to oil cleanse in the evening I find it less smelly and greasy than bio oil and leaves my skin lovely and soft - I have combination skin.

amberleaf · 30/08/2010 22:48

I tried it, it felt nice but gave me loads of white hard spotty things [cant remember what they are called-under the skin and hard but tiny].

I stopped using it-would still use it for scars, it stopped my children getting scars from chickenpox

Thanks all, just what I wanted to hear. Soon be the season for dry skin, what with wind and central heating and all. (But what a thing to be thinking in August!)
