Do these accessories go with this dress?

Please be gentle with me - am feeling post-natal and frumpy...

I am going to the wedding of a good friend in October, and have ordered this dress from Monsoon online - am hoping I will fit the size 12 by then. I need to wear a shrug due to scarring so have ordered a silver one also from Monsoon - won't link it as they don't have any pics of it. I have also ordered these shoes as I have tried them on instore and they weren't too uncomfortable - am very fussy with shoes Grin, and this.

So basically some of my accessories would be silver but the shoes are bright pink - is that too much going on with the navy of the dress or can I get away with it? I can't find any silver sandals that look like they would be comfortable and not fall off (I need straps due to narrow feet). I already have a gold shrug and gold sandals which would save me £££ but have worn them to every wedding I have been to recently.

Thanks for any advice Smile

I think that sounds like a lovely outfit. You see loads of slebs wearing bright shoes which don't "match" any other part of their outfit, esp. in neons. I think it looks really funky.

Little thought.... you might consider your make-up, not necessarily to have bright pink lips (!), but something which picks up some of the pinky tones in your blush or lipgloss or whatever. Rather than a russety colour, for example.

Thanks domesticslattern. I haven't dressed up for so long I've kind of lost my confidence in putting an outfit together!

Gorgeous! When I clicked on all three it showed them all on the same page and they look great together. I love that dress, am seriously tempted to get it myself!

Can I ask how old you are?

Pink shoes absolutely fine with navy dress and I think better than silver.

Househunter · 28/08/2010 11:46

I'm 32, but feeling a lot older at the moment. My 2 dds (2 and 4 months) have aged me! Grin

Oh I know that feeling well Wink

I suspected you were young and just think that you could get away with something a bit younger.

What shape are you? Have you looked at whistles or reiss?

NorkilyChallenged · 28/08/2010 12:02

Thanks Tracey, like that wrap though would probably dip in my cup of tea or something...

How are these? They have the strap across though, but a nice dark blue colour.

I'm not sure I like the ones you linked to but just as well given the price Grin Am going to look in LK Bennett as Tethers also recommended - will try on and see if I can cram my ugly-sister feet into some cinderella shoes :)

Gah sorry, posted my reply on the wrong thread Blush

OMG-the sandals are beautiful!

Love, love, love them!!

I think it all sounds great tbh.

Silver sandals-a bit "Come Dancing"?

Househunter · 28/08/2010 12:18

Traceybath I'm 5ft5 and about 11 stone but hope to lose about half a stone by the wedding. I have a mummy tummy and big norks due to breastfeeding. Legs improving as I lose the baby weight but wouldn't want to wear anything more than a couple of inches above the knee. Am a size 14 at present but think Monsoon are generous with their sizes and they had sold out of the 14 anyway, which is why I've risked the 12.

No, I've not looked at Whistles/Reiss but will check out their websites now Smile

diddl - yes, I love the sandals too, just think it will be impossible to find a shrug in the same colour so hoping the silver one won't look a bit odd - too many colours going on??

this is the shrug, but as I say, no picture...
