Benefit make-up on Ebay

Does anyone ever buy Benefit products on Ebay and if so, please can you recommend a genuine seller.

I do use quite a few of the Benefit products and have bought them from a counter in the past but having just lost my entire make-up bag I really can't afford to replace everything at full price.

I've bought a few bits from various sellers and its all fake, i know this because i've bought the real thing before and its different.

I now save my boots points to buy benefit products with.

What do you need to replace? perhaps someone can suggest a cheaper alternative? Or could you not buy one of the benefit mini kits? you get a few products in there.

Jewelsandgems · 27/08/2010 16:38

Agree with miche8 it is all fake.

And worringly, what kind of crap is it they are selling? That unexperienced buyers are outting on their face!

Thanks, that's what I am worried about.

My favourite items that I would like to replace are Browzings and Lemon Aid, they are my staples and any cheaper alternatives would be great although I know they are good value and last for ages if you don't lose you make-up Grin

I have also had the Realness of Concealness kit but really only used the lemon aid and boing concealer so a bit expensive for those two only.

sorry summery I would just may be buy a few things a month, til you are fully stocked again.

I have bought 2 things off ebay - benetint and posietint and they were so obviously fake. Boxes were perfect, and the little leaflets but the bottles were not right and the contents just pure sludge :(

I write to the seller and she gave me a refund, advising me to throw the products in the bin.

Ufortuinatly, most of her feedback was positive but a good amount was people saying fake products.

HinnyPet · 27/08/2010 21:38

How do you know it's fake?
I've bought posietint and drfeelgood in the past month and all seem ok, the DF applicator is a bit weird though...how should they feel when on?

have bought smashbox cosmetics from ebay and certainly not fake, check feed back thoroughly

SandyisinCaldwell · 27/08/2010 21:42

Yeh I've bought the big beautiful eyes and dandelion blusher and they were both fake.

I have sold real benefit make up on ebay before. Stuff that has been given to me as a gift and was the wrong shade/stuff I already have. I know lots of beauty editors are sent products to test and then sell them on.

I think the key is to read the description closely. If it is something that has been tested once and the seller describes it as an unwanted gift or similar it is probably genuine. Don't buy from power sellers or people with stupidly large amounts of feedback, who have multiples of the same product for sale as it is likely they have bulk bought a load of cheap fakes.

Also badgal eyeliner/it stick/eye bright, were free with glamour magazine recently so you can probably pick these up fairly cheaply.

Good luck

TrillianAstra · 27/08/2010 21:49

I've recently bought a primpcess kit (the one you can only get at the airport) that was 'lightly used' and that's real. Well, I think it's real.

ilovelucy says what I was going ot say about the pencils that were with Glamour magazine recently.

summery · 27/08/2010 22:01

Thanks for the advice everyone and luckily I did manage to get one of the white highlighter pencils from Glamour magazine when they were on offer and this wasn't in the make-up bag when it was lost - yay!

i also think lots of women buy expensive cosmetics then regret it - easy pickings Wink

always worth checking on ebay first
