I am going to be a bridesmaid this autumn and will be wearing this this dress. I think I will need a cardigan or similar otherwise I am going to freeze. The wedding is rural rather than in the city, so dressy but not really smart and bride has no specifications although I think she would prefer it if I didn't wear black. I would prefer it if it was something I could wear again this autumn/ winter and not too expensive. Any thoughts? I was thinking about a dark purple fitted cardigan? My knowledge of what's in the shops is useless.

this navy jacket would look great, and would be very wearable for A/W.

If you did want a dark purple cardi, here is one, which also comes in navy.

I like the cardi, not the jacket.

ooh thank you Plum. I think I will have a trip into town to try these on. And thank you, Mary- I am rubbish at decision making so your input is v handy!

I would really look into cashmere piece. YOu won't be hot or cold and you will get a lot of wear out of it. Look at boden (there should be 20% code around), pure (def. 25% off, I just got catalogue today), even M&S and John Lewis
