what size is a 35 shoe?

I am trying to buy size 35 shoes online as a gift for friend.. some websites say UK size 2 is a 35 and some websites say a size 3... can anyone help?

35 is a 2.5 usually, 36 is a 3 and 37 a 4.

Thanks, most websites start at a 3. Might have to rethink pressie idea and get a bag instead!
