Just that really, I'm thinking of ordering a couple of things online and wondered if their sizing is generally true to size or small/big for the size.

Thank you Smile

I find that generally it's a little generous but erring on true to size it's more M&S true to size than top shop true to size ifyswim except for their dresses which do come up slightly small. what are you thinking of getting? - I've tried alot some of the new stuff on Blush

BeenBeta · 26/08/2010 16:55

DW finds it a little generous 'true size' too.

claireinthecommunity · 26/08/2010 17:01

Hello cf, thanks for your response. The main item I'm thinking of getting is this dress I usually wear a size 10 from other retailers (Boden, White Stuff, Esprit, Gap, Oasis) but have veered into some size twelves this year as I have put a little weight on!

What would your thoughts be?

I would agree they are generous true size - why not order both sizes as returns are free?

RamblingRosa · 26/08/2010 17:14

I would definitely go for the 10. It's a stretchy fabric so you might find a 12 way too big. I just bought this delancey mac and it's true to size (albeit a teeny bit tight across the shoulders and short in the arm but I'm not sure a size up would be any longer in the arm IYKWIM.

Thanks df and RR.

I like the look of that mac RR, I'd like one of those too but just can't justify it at the mo Wink

The 10 it is, even though I've put on some weight I'm not planning to put on any more and I may even drop a pound or two...Grin

Thank you all Smile

Ooh, before you buy it, I forgot to mention there's a 20% off offer on at the moment. Promotional code is REDOFFER. That's how I justified the expense of the mac :)

doggydaft · 27/08/2010 09:35

I have that dress in the purple, its really lovely and flattering. I would say fo for the ten. Am 14-16 just now with vv big boobs but the 14 was fine Smile

doggydaft · 27/08/2010 09:36

go even

claireinthecommunity · 27/08/2010 11:12

Oooh glad I checked back in, thanks for the code RR, I am now hankering after that mac, maybe with the discount...

Thank you dd, good to hear the dress is so flattering Smile

Ok, order made, went for the dress in a 10 and the mac Blush I'm having it delivered to my local store as I'm away from tomorrow for a short break and didn't want to miss the delivery.

Thanks so much for the discount code RR and for the advice.

Thanks again to all for their time and advice, I'll report back when I've collected Smile

Ooh, glad you got the mac! Sorry for leading you astray. I bought mine last weekend and I've worn it literally every day this week (due mainly to the foul weather :() and I've had lots of compliments. I hope you like it.

chocolatefroggie · 28/08/2010 00:19

I tried on the mac - loved it until I found the tampon like protrusions in the shoulders Hmm made me look like this not a good look!
but I'm thinking that maybe I should have tried the eight instead of the 10 as it might have been too large on the shoulders.

RamblingRosa · 28/08/2010 12:44

Oh I know! I'm not convinced by the shoulders either but I love the mac other than that. Hopefully it doesn't look like a tampon on!
