No, fall apart v. quickly. There were loads of negative reviews on the website IIRC....

Wow, I was just going to post same question!!! for boys and girls shoes. Darn it, what a shame, back to Clarks or Start-rite I guess. Sad

RubberDuck · 27/08/2010 09:24

On the contrary - I've bought M&S school shoes for my two for the last 2 years. They've worn well and lasted far far better than the Start-rites and Clarks I've bought previously. Plus they're half the price!

I recommend them to anyone.

Wolfgirl · 27/08/2010 09:30

RubberDuck, thanks for that. The shoes at the moment are for DD, she starts reception mid Sept. I guess girls are not so boistrous as boys, i.e. football, climbing walls. or are they!! Hmm

I will go take a look later on, see what they have to offer.

I have sons Grin To give you an idea, my ds2 destroyed (I mean really destroyed - big gaping hole in the toe) a pair of Start-rites in 6 weeks.

The last pair of M&S shoes lasted half a year. And they were £16 not £36. Although tbh, if the M&S shoes had lasted over a month, I'd still have been happy.

I went for Clarks in the end - when can you stop buying Clarks, ie. when does the width no longer matter? He's 4 in December, not really at the stage where he trashes shoes, but needs good shoes I guess. But I do resent paying £30 a time!

I'll let you know in a few weeks time...

I have bought M&S school shoes for my 3 DC. DS1 trashes Clarks shoes playing football and using them as brakes on his bike Hmm so I am fed up of paying £35+ a pair for them. DS2 is starting to trash his too, and I wasn't impressed with the last pair that DD had. So I decided to try M&S ones as they were less than £20 a pair, plus were on 3 for 2, so I got 3 pairs for the £35 that I would have spent on 1 pair in Clarks.

I am hoping that they will last.

I tried the girls ones and had to bin them as my daughter kept crying and falling when wearing them. They were very hard - soles and uppers and never softened as baby shoes should

My mum buys school shoes in the sale for ds1. We have had no issues with the quality and they have lasted as long as Clarkes.
