Be kind, I'm a S&B virgin. This is the dress I am getting married in....

I will be about 20 weeks pregnant. I have bought this dress

And I have black heels which I can walk in. The wedding is (secret) registry office in about a month, so it could be a little chilly. But obviously isn't in the slightest bit traditional, or posh. Only the 3 of us will be there, me, DF and DD Smile

My question is, oh stylish Mners, what kind of cardigan should I get? Crew-neck? What length? And I am not afraid of colour (I like jewel-like shades, nothing wishy-washy), but obviously my shoes will be black. Does that matter? Help...

I would get a wrap and not a cardi or it will look like you are getting wed in a dress and cardi!!

Wraps are more dramatic!

BabyValentine · 24/08/2010 21:41

Good point, collision! Although if it didn't offend DF so much, I'd be getting married in a pair of jeans.

I do have a turquoise wrap knocking about somewhere

You are getting married- don't wear a cardigan.

You need this

mermaidgirl · 25/08/2010 12:16

How about this?

loads in Mango

WannabeMakeUpArtist · 25/08/2010 16:54

I love the ASOS petal shrug! Beautiful and would look amazing with the dress - go buy! Grin

ChoChoSan · 25/08/2010 17:05

Would this be appropriate :

AfternoonsandCoffeespoons · 25/08/2010 17:10

Ooh I like that ChoCHoSan - very understated but classy. Grin

ChoChoSan · 25/08/2010 17:14

Yes, I think it's important to maintain an air of sophistication at such events.

GreatOrmondSt · 25/08/2010 18:25

I agree, the dress is nice and smart but a wrap would definitely make it feel more glam. I would go for a wrap thats got a touch of metallic to it and then wear matching shoes. If you don't fancy a wrap, then how about a cute cropped jacket?

What's wrong with looking like you're getting married in a dress and cardi if you are actually getting married in a dress and cardi?

I know I know, I have no idea...

tethersend · 25/08/2010 19:05

Hello Norkily!

Where have you been? Sorry about the anti-cardi stance but, I'm committed to the cause Wink

NorkilyChallenged · 25/08/2010 19:14

Hello, been stupidly busy with work in evenings which has cut into MN time Grin. Have just posted thread asking for opinions on 3 dresses if you wouldn't mind popping over there and telling me what you think?

Cardi stance may affect my own decisions there too.

BabyValentine · 25/08/2010 20:56

Thanks everyone, especially ChoCho.

The ASOS petal shrug looks like a possibilty. And I'm grateful for the cardi-support Norkily, as I said, the wedding will be a very small affair, followed by a pub lunch and 4 hours in the car, so I'm not overly fussed with glamour!

Good luck BabyV, and have a fabulous wedding!

ben5 · 26/08/2010 13:03

i love the dress. i would go for a wrap to.
just a thought but don't you need a witness for your wedding?

BabyValentine · 26/08/2010 14:21

Thanks, ChoCho Smile

Apparently we can poach a couple of ladies from the estate agents opposite the Registry Office; they have a rota, so it must be a regular occurance!

What about this ?

Not sure if I'm a feather-girl though. Perhaps the petals would be better. Mmmm.

BabyValentine · 26/08/2010 14:49

Oh, sorry, mermaid - just realised that's your 2nd choice.

MamaVoo · 26/08/2010 19:37
