Umbrellas

Not sure whether this is strictly s&b but couldn't find anywhere more suitable...

...I live in windy and rainy Scotland and I need a new umbrella as I left the last one on the bus! I'm fed up of umbrellas that fall apart quickly. I need one that can withstand gales. I also want a smallish fold away one, preferably.

Does anyone have a fantastic umbrella that has lasted you years and you would like to recommend? If it's good quality, I'm willing to pay £££ for something.

Just got given the Lulu Guiness "birdcage" umbrella for my birthday & it not only looks great but,is sturdy & well-made,because of it's shape I reckon it's nigh impossible for it to blow inside out.
Not sure how much it was, though!Probably about £30?

I find that fold always always crumple in the wind at some stage.
I have a chocolate box umbrella that is sturdy yet crap for pram pushing, hey ho.

I always buy the automatic fulton magnum for DH (repeatedly!). Fairly sturdy for a foldaway but quite big and obviously a man's one.

How about this?

Look at this windproof one. Still prefer the nubrella though if you'd like to look like a complete titGrin

I am now crying with laughter at the nubrella. There are certain compromises I'm not willing to make for the sake of practicality.

I'm liking Zondra's Lulu Guiness link best so far. Any other bright ideas?!

I must be honest and say I have never, ever drooled over admired an umbrella before, but I need that Lulu Guinness one (although I would probably be less of a fashionista and stick with the red and black one Blush.

As for the nubrella, I have no words!

I've just ordered the Birdgage one. I have a bit of a thing for umbrellas. That should help to brighten up the dreary walk to school.
