What to wear to a wedding and a Christening?

Same family so can't wear the same thing twice. Is a skirt and light jumper acceptable for a Christening? Is a long dress okay for a wedding?

Why can't you wear same thing twice?

I dunno. Just seems a bit off. Like I didn't make the effort when really we haven't money to buy new clothes for us all that we wouldn't otherwise buy.
