Has anyone seen a nice knitted dress for autumn?

I ordered this one in Next www.next.co.uk/shopping/women/casualwear/35/1?extra=sch&n=women&pid=741-612&exclude=00AF00%7c00A00&returnurl=%2fsearch%3fp%3dQ%26lbc%3dnext%26uid%3d144254042%26ts%3dv8%26w%3dcable%2520dress%26af%3d%26method%3dand%26filter%3dsubset%253a4201%26nxtv%3d0%26nxti%3d0%23741%2d612&bct=%26quot%3bCable%20Dress%26quot%3b

but I couldn't see the neckline, thought it was v neck but it's not and doesn't suit me. It's too thick as well ( should have known as cable knit).

I basically want something like that but thinner with a v neck. Has anyone seen anything nice?

Tried on a nice one in Monsoon at the weekend. Was V neck.
Didn't buy it though cos it was a bit short- mind you, I'm 6ft :)

tassisssss · 24/08/2010 21:48

Bishoplyn, that's my problem too...marks and spencers ones were longer last year so worth a look there maybe...

Bishoplyn · 24/08/2010 21:50

Thanks for the tip. Will check out M&S.

Saw [http://www.whitestuff.com/LAUTREC-KNIT-DRESS-P27395/ this]] in the catalogue today, plus there was a wine-coloured one which doesn't seem to be on the website yet.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 25/08/2010 00:29

And, even though I try and resist WS, I think www.whitestuff.com/APOLLO-BAY-DRESS-P28196/this is quite cute.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 25/08/2010 00:32

Sorry this.

gigglewitch · 25/08/2010 00:34

I got one in m&s yesterday, great fit (and I haven't bought anything in there for about ten years :O) will see if there's a link handy in a mo

WhatsWrongWithYou · 25/08/2010 00:35

Why do you think v-necks don't suit you? Another one.

gigglewitch · 25/08/2010 00:36

this one!

gigglewitch · 25/08/2010 00:40

I like oasis ones as well

HLaurens · 25/08/2010 08:25

I have last year's version of this
which is quite flattering and very comfy

selby · 25/08/2010 08:43

I bought a navy version last year. You have to try it on - it looks much better on than on the hanger/in the picture plus it's extremely flattering on me.

selby · 25/08/2010 08:47

Purple One too

withorwithoutyou · 25/08/2010 09:34

Thanks.

V necks suit me but nothing else atm as I'm breastfeeding and nothing but a v neck flatters my boobs right now.

Cobblers - the neckline on the next dres isn't high, it's rounded verging on scoop neck.

gigglewitch what colour did you get? I like that but amnot sure about the ruffles at the bottom.

polyhymnia · 25/08/2010 10:35

selby, like the Monsoon ones. Only thing is that in past I've found knits with angora in shed a lot, and can also go bobbly. Was the Monsoon one you had last year OK from this point of view?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 25/08/2010 12:24

So your boobs are bigger from bf?
Not convinced scoop or round necks don't suit you in that case (although I do wonder how all you young'uns bf wearing a dress!).
I'm an E cup (have varied between D and J at various stages) and round necks are definitely flattering - in fact, I have to wear a vest under a v-neck to soften it as otherwise it looks too stark.
Maybe you're just not used to seeing yourself with that shape?

withorwithoutyou · 25/08/2010 14:51

No, round necks definitely don't flatter me at the best of times, but even worse when breastfeeding.

My shoulders are too square and I have no hips so I'm quite up and down. Round necks don't break up my sillhouette at all. Trust me!

polyhymnia, my dress has not shed but it has gone slightly bobbly but then so has my cashmere cardy from Gap & my cashmere poloneck from Jaegar! It's very slight so I'm definitely planning to wear it this A/W.
