I would to find some nice skirts and dresses for this coming winter. i've only really got into wearing them in the last year since I bought some nice boots last year. I will be buying some black boots this year too. having never really bought skirts and dresses before ( I own about 3 and have had them for years) I don't really know where to look. I'm 36 and 5'4", about a size 10/12

What's your budget? I drooled over the window display in Hobbs this morning, but I can't afford to go in there!

can't afford hobbs either! i guess Next/ H&M etc prices would be a good benchmark. I'm looking for staples to bring out for a few years if possible so could probably manage a little more for the right thing. I would rather have fewer things I love than more things i think are just ok if you get what i mean?

I have just bought this for the winter

it looks better with a black belt IMO but hangs nicely and is a nice length as I don't have great knees.

its a lovely colour and i imagine if it hanges well it could be v flattering.
i quite fancy a knitted grey dress but i wonder how such a thing would wash....

do you think this could be nice with some black suede flat boots and a pair of leggings?

NinjaChipmunk · 23/08/2010 16:36

Is something like this any good? Maybe too short if you're also 5ft 10!

I have a lovely 100% wool skirt (in grey) from Rag & Bone that I have lived in for the last few winters.
