Braces as an adult?

Hi
Just wondering if anyone has had the experience of wearing braces as an adult?
I had a "train-track" brace when i was 15 but over the past few years my teeth have moved and i'm now very self-conscious when i smile!
I've got an appointment with an Orthodontist next week to discuss options, cost etc but was just wondering if anyone one on here would be able to share their experiences of adult life with braces ;)
I'll probably have fixed braces again but in ceramic (not so noticeable as metal i hope!)
I guess i just want to know i'm not the only adult going to be wearing braces :)

I looked into it a while ago. My orthodontist offered a choice of standard or lingual braces (fitted to the insides of teeth so not visible) which lots of adults prefer.

I haven't gone ahead with it yet - too expensive - but a friend of mine had it done a few years ago and has no regrets.

i had it done a couple of years ago and am so glad i did. i had the ceramic bits that attach to your teeth. Its the best 3 grand (in total yikes!) i've spent. i took a before photo and an after photo and the difference is massive. my teeth were really wonky and i think its changed my whole face. go for it i say!!

my mum had them at 75!

I am thinking about them- had the moulds made for Invisalign but my dentist has concerns over how long teeth stay straight as they move teeth quickly. Cost put me off- £3K for each jaw.

I am still thinking of ordinary braces, but am concerned about the look.
