Boden green peacoat - yes or no?

Getting kitted out for Autumn/Winter and love the boden peacoat in green BUT it's double whatever you call it (two rows of buttons) and I am a v. busty 16/18. I won't ever really wear it done up, but shall I still steer clear, or will it look ok? :) Thanks

I love the peacoat BUT i'm a size 14/16 apple shape and i'm pretty certain the double breasted buttons are going to make me look huge. Had my eye on the navy one.

I used to have one when i was skinny and it never hung right when worn unbuttoned, lots of flapping.

By the way the boden colours are usually different to what they look like on screen.

The best thing is to order and try it, bodens service and returns are the best. If you love it and feel great in it then keep it, we cant always follow the rules.

I have seen they do a longer velvet thats single breasted but with a dodgy high belt thing Confused It's so hard being an 18! Thanks for the lots of flapping heads up :)

I am a busty 16, and once had a double breasted navy blue coat from Hobbs. It flapped when left open, and did not look good when done up. When I look at photos of myself in it, I regard it as one of my (many) past fashion mistakes!

So, I'd step away from the peacoat if I were you...

Avoid anything double breasted. It makes you look like you suffer from monoboob.
I have a double breasted coast from Boden. Look fab online. Just fat on me.

Peacoats are for skinny, flat chested people only imho

I have bought it in a 10- I am a 32 C bust. I bought the 8 and it was tight. it is a small fitting coat.
If you won't wear it fastened then why ever not buy it?
I'd size up though if you are unsure of the size.

when i was an 18/20 with 42d boobs i had lots of double breasted coats from Boden.I thought they were nice and don`t regret wearing them

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 23/08/2010 13:41

I am a GG Blush I have now fallen in love with the longer velvet (single breasted) and as I am 5'3" I think the peacoat may look like a normal coat on a very short person i.e way too long Grin Maybe I'll order both and send one back... but I am terrible for knowing what looks OK on me until I see photos months later!

take some pics of yourself immediatly wearing them both and it might help you decide.Or ask someone you trust who`s really honest with you.My 19 year old ds is good for this Hmm

sorky · 23/08/2010 14:02

why don't you do Gok's body type quiz. Might help you with coat choices :)

purplepeony · 23/08/2010 15:02

the velvet pea coat is short- I am 5'3" and it just covers my bum.
