How much do manicures normally cost?

I have finally given up biting my nails after 20 years (!) and they are now a length where I can actually go and have a manicure. How much should I be looking at paying? I've looked at some local salons but they all seem to be run by the same people or have no website.

I'll just be wanting a standard french manicure, no extensions or anything. I want to show off my new 'ladies' hands and have job interviews coming up so can't go for anything too outrageous.

£20 - £30 depending on salon, extras like paraffin wax etc.

There is clearly more to this nail care malarky than I was aware of

ten quid if you go to one of those nail parlours that keep popping up, usually run by really good Vietnamese girls/boys. If you havent one of those locally then they are about £20
