Tights etiquette

Please help me style experts! I'm off to a wedding next weekend. I'm planning to wear some really lovely dusky pink, open toe shoes but . . . my legs are covered in insect bites.

I thought I might wear some slightly opaque tights to disguise my manky pins. Is it breaking the tights rules if I wear tights with open toe shoes? Smile

Open toes and tights is an absolute no no. Sorry. Camouflage makeup?

nickschic · 22/08/2010 20:05

i think its ok as long as the toe seam isnt a darker shade???u can buy tights to wear with sandals

traceybath · 22/08/2010 20:08

Opaques and open-toes is fine - its clearly deliberate and very 'fashion'.

Or knee high socks and peep-toes in US vogue if you're feeling brave/mad Wink

yy to opaques with peep toes- not with sandally sandals though. What are the shoes like?

I would wear white, grey or black opaques with dusky pink shoes. What colour is the dress?

M & S do toeless tights don't they?

QueeferSutherland · 22/08/2010 22:03

I had some toeless tights from sainsbo's, I think.
Uncomfy, but hey, beauty is pain.

The dress is black and teal (or will be when I sew on the silk)

The shoes aren't strappy sandals they're at bit like this in style.

Thanks for all your help everyone, I'm rarely out of jeans and t-shirts so am totally clueless. I only know there are tights 'rules' because I used to work with a very stylish girl who had very definite opinions on when you should and shouldn't wear tights (she also owned nearly £10,000 worth of shoes!)
