check out ebay for cheap patterns - I got a few but havent persuaded my mum to drag the old singer out from the back of the hall closet yet so I can do them.

Depending on the age of your kids, you can usually find patterns for dress, tops, skirts, shorts and trousers all in one packet.

I saw a "sewing patterns for dummies" pattern on there the other day if you are a novice sewer, this would prob be a good one to go for

btw, only thing I have got round to making was a dress for dd that was basically two bits of fabric exactly the same (back and front)sewed three sides together and hemmed bottom, then sewed a wee winnie the pooh patch thing on front and that was it. Took about 20 mins, and dd loves it!

I've made DD a skirt that didn't fot very well but did for a few wears. Plus I've crocheted loads of poncho's for her in her favourite colours. I'm also tempted to add some ribbon and beads or sequins to her tops or jeans but haven't got round to it yet.
