Hairdryer died today. I've had it for 20 years Blush so I've no idea whats out there.

My hair is long and fine, slightly wavy. I want something that will leave it silky but not too flat...any ideas?

i had to replace my hairdryer last week, and got this one from argos, so far, am impressed with it. hair is blow dried straight and is a short bob. leaves it less frizzy than my old hair dryer did.

Thanks lucykate. That is useful.

I also wondered about 'professional' hairdryers, I've seen a few mentioned on other threads.

I'd be interested to hear views on whether they are worth paying the extra for.

I got a 'professional' hair dryer directly from my hairdresser at the time, Toni and Guy, 10 years ago. Every hair dressers I've been in since has used the same one. I have thick hair and find it strong enough to cope with my hair, has lasted well, still going strong and has not blown up.
I would recommend a professional one, 'fashion' hair dryers are crap, IMO, for me Smile

Yes, I got a Parlux 3200 from a friend who's a hairdresser. Think it was about 35 but well worth it, especially if you have long thick hair that takes ages to dry..or actually if you just want one that will last another 20 years! They last for ages as they have to be able to survive constant usage in a salon environment..

Thank you all. Smile I'll check those out. I have seen parlux mentioned on other threads too. Pricey, but maybe worth it...
