I need help oh wise and stylish ones Smile

Have just bought this dress for a friend's wedding in mid September.

Do I wear black opaques and black heels or is that a No?

Is September too late for bare legs?

Do I wear jewellery?

Ideas for shoes?

Is a plain black matte satin clutch ok?

I'm not planning wearing any hair adornment/hat. Just going to get my hair professionally blow dried so it's all bouncy and shiny.

Gah weddings!

Chances are, it will still be warm in mid Sept. I would go for nude fishnets, and either nude or black shoes. Black clutch sounds fab.

BunnyLebowski · 18/08/2010 10:19

Thanks Plum

I really don't like nude shoes. Do you think the nude fishnets would work with black platforms?

yes, definately. Is basically same as bare legs, only less, err, bare.

moragbellingham · 18/08/2010 10:33

Apparently, black leggings - must be long length, under dresses with court shoes (platform) is still thoroughly acceptable.

Would rather go bollock naked than wear leggings of any kind.

But thanks for replying Smile.

Was just going to post a DO NOT WEAR LEGGINGS rant- but you have restored my faith in humanity, Bunny Smile

I'm going against the grain- wear black opaques and black or grey shoes; preferably patent; much classier. Nude tights or bare legs will give the dress a more casual feel IYSWIM. I think black opaques would be much more sophisticated.

tethersend · 18/08/2010 11:20

If you do choose nude tights/bare legs wear pink shoes, not black; black shoes on bare legs would be too harsh.

BunnyLebowski · 18/08/2010 11:20

Grin at our mutual hatred of the evil legging tethers.

Y'see my instinctive thought was to go with black opaques and black shoes. With the black accents on the dress I thought this would look the most 'together'.

Really like the black Carvela shoes too!

Think you will look fab Smile

Very pretty! Agree with patent shoes, alternatively (if weather still warm) peep-toe satin shoes. As it's a shorter dress, I add my assent to the advocates for black tights. Add a black long shrug or pashmina to balance out the contrast with the shoes. Pink fascinator/flower in hair, anyone?

BunnyLebowski · 18/08/2010 12:19

Thanks comtessa Smile

I'm definitely going to go for the opaques + black shoe option.

Wasn't planning wearing any kind of wrap and definitely not a shrug as it would take away from the dress.

And I hate fascinators possibly more than I hate leggings lol Grin.

Might consider a flower....hmm.....

The look I want to achieve is classy and polished so I'm thinking less is more!
